I cry a lot during sad movies, so that's not really embarassing or worth mentioning.
I am embarassed to say I cried during The NeverEnding Story, when
[Show spoiler]the horse drowns into the swamp
. I was only six or something, and I just couldn't do anything about it.
When I saw Dumbo a year ago again after a very long time, I cried as well. When his mother sings to him, I just couldn't hold it. Damn, that movie is depressing.
But for some reason I have never cried during E.T., I don't think the ending is that sad.

These come to mind:

- Phenomenon - w/ John Travolta, at the end when they focus on Travolta's picture and the Eric Clapton/Babyface "Change The World" starts playing.
- Seven Pounds - The end
- Life is Beautiful – What the father did for his son in the concentration camp

Why would a person be embarrassed about crying? Afraid you'll get hazed by your frat boy buddies?

Exactly, emotions are emotions and they affect each person in different ways.

I joke around but one scene that always get's to me the hard way is in Private Ryan, when that young medic as been shot and they are rushing around him trying to help him and they don't know what to do and he just keep repeating as you can see the life going out of him "I want to go home! I want to go home!" For some reason it just bring up a picture of an uncle I never got to meet because he died in France during that war. That scene just make's me think of him everytime even if all I ever knew of him are about what my family as told me and some old black & white pics.

That is what art is all about getting a emotional respond out of us, movies are art in the same fashion as paitings, music, scultures, pictures... each one is made to get a emotion out of us.

[Show spoiler]when all of Mordor falls apart

I'm a big sucker for grand dramatic finales.
No need to be embarassed about those.

I can't say I got choked up about ROTK but definitely those scenes in Armageddon and Jedi are strong emotional scenes.

Heck it's always impressed me that you can see the emotion in Vader even though he's in a mask.

A scene for me that gets me emotional for some weird reason is the 1st appearance of Superman when he rescues Lois in the helicopter.

Some of you need to go back and read the title of the thread....it says movies you are embarrassed to admit you cried during! To me most of the movies I'm seeing listed are for sure tearjerkers in parts and nobody should be embarrassed to admit that they cried on these movies.

embarrassed? That's one of the sadest movies I've ever seen, though I haven't seen My Sister's Keeper yet. The trailer for that one has my eyes watering, so I can onlhy imagine how the movie is.

Well I cried while watching Blades Of Glory but it was more because I could not believe I was actualy watching that movie, so I guess that qualify as embarrasment.

Oh lord yes, that scene makes me want to cry too. Can't say I'm embarrased by it though; it is quite an evoking movie.

I saw "Pinocchio" recently, when it came out on Blu-Ray. The scene where the one kid turns into a donkey actually gave me the chills. Disney movies can be brutal in their own ways.

When I first saw "Braveheart," a bunch of scenes made me sad. Not embarrased about it, though.
