Edward Scissorhands
Eraser Friday Independence Day Last Action Hero Men in Black Misery Predator Rocky 2 Rocky 3 Rocky 4 Rocky 4 Speed The Terminator Total Recall Training Day Twister Let me put it this way, I upgraded to DVD very, very, very, very late and I only upgraded two of my VHS movies to DVD. I have about 80 VHS movies and about 9 DVD's. There are still plenty of movies left for me to jump from VHS straight to BD and others that aren't available yet which I will buy when they come out. So far this year out of my VHS collection I've seen Jurassic Park, Dante's Peak, Demolition Man, White Man Can't Jump, and Planet Of The Apes. Who knows, I might see a few more VHS movies before the year is over. ![]() |

Haven't had any yet that I know of, but it's inevitable. I own VHS copies of Wings & Cavalcade, the only two Best Pictures never officially released on DVD; I'm sure Paramount will bring Wings directly to Blu someday. (I'm not so sure about Cavalcade.) My mom also still has the VHS copy of Titanic she "borrowed" from me years ago; I've already replaced it with a DVD, and that will eventually be upgraded to BD.
My collection has been lost a few times over the years (stolen, lost, etc.), so it's possible I once owned on VHS some other movies I now have on BD; but I don't recall them. Last edited by RBBrittain; 06-21-2010 at 12:06 AM. Reason: Clarify |

I'd have to think a bit to figure out how many. For sure I can say Blade Runner (I went from LD to HD DVD, no need yet to switch that HD DVD to BD since they are the same), A Hard Day's Night, Casablanca (to HD DVD), the Grinch, Miracle on 34th St, Wizard of Oz, Snow White, The Prisoner, Frantic, Baron Munchausen.
All my Star Wars films are on cassette and LD except for a used DVD I bought of Ep. III. I've waited long enough for a high def version of these, so I'll continue wait it out until a nice box set comes out of eps. I-VI. |

Hopefully everyone here has located Blu-ray.com's "Official LaserDisc Thread" in the Home Theater General Discussion forum. If you haven't, come check this sticky thread out!
The Official LaserDisc Thread P.S. Don't forget to vote in the poll. The number of "no longer watch laserdiscs" votes is progressively creaping up on us "still watch laserdiscs" voters ![]() |

I'm sure if I sit down and look there are quite a few, but the one that springs most to mind is Wizard of Oz, which is probably why I was so impressed with it on Blu versus those who had seen the last DVD.
I had Oz on VHS (twice, regular and the 50th Ann. set), and of course the Ultimate OZ laserdisc box. Just never got around to picking up the DVD. |

Hmm, for me I suppose the first 6 Star Trek films come to mind. I own a beautiful VHS set of the films (the box set that has the Enterprise spanning the VHS spines, with all the VHS housed at a weird angle), but I never bought any of the DVDs aside from the extended version of the first film. I do not own the Blu-rays yet, but I have it planned to be my next purchase.
