The DVD doesn't look DNR'd... But then I haven't watched it in a week.

We have a thread on this Briefcase version on an Australian forum, it is Region Free but encoded at 1080i50. So if you don't have a LG BH200 or a Oppo BDP83 which can convert the video signal to 60Hz, this title is no good for you.

You can always import the Danish version which is region free and encoded in 1080p. Swapped the disk out of this special edition, to make it "complete"

Post from user Spizz over at AVSForums who just received his today:

Quote:
Got it today. It is indeed 1080i50hz but the picture was the best I have seen the movie look. Both a standard Dolby Digital track and a DTS-HD-MA trach which I used the latter as it was the better of the 2.

The movie rating on the front comes of and I was expecting a huge presentation box but it was just slightly larger than a standard blu-ray case in size. Need someone else to verify if they detect the 4% pal speed up in the Audio as it was playing on my mind when watching it and I think I could hear it.

Oh and it played with no problems via the Oppo BD83.
So there's the confirmation.

Where can I find a place to order the Danish version? I've run out of places to look and the only place I found only ships to EU countries.

Ok here is something interesting. I just put the disc into my Sony BDP-S360 and it plays in 1080/50p and my monitor says 1080P. But my PS3 will only do 720p. ???

PS3 can certainly output in 1080p unless you have specifically set your ps3 to only output in 720p...

there is no 1080/50p mode. AFAIK, progressive mode is either 1080/60p or 1080/24p.. if your monitor is showing 1080p, perhaps your Sony player is setup to convert the PAL video to NTSC? i m no videophile though so perhaps someone else can explain this better

Everything else on my ps3 plays in 1080p with no problems. As far as settings go I just have it on the default setting. Haven't played around with it yet.

Yeah, whilst its a film that will never look like Transformers as the source material was not shot in that manner, I can't help but think detail was scrubbed away (I shall watch it in full, rather then just some of my favourite scenes and give me opinion soon).

i watched it yesterday have to say i was dissapointed with the PQ(3.5) after considering the movie is 15 years old they could've done a better job

if u look at the detail some scenes look like a perfect transfer for a 15yo movie nd some on the other hand look like they just copied them from the dvd nd the main fault that was common in almost half the movie was that the area around the actors was detailed perfectly the further u got away from them the blurrier the picture became had to say i was looking forward to this, really dissapointed
P.S. it plays in 1080i on the PS3

the AQ(5) was pretty good every gunshot every impact was louder nd better than d dvd cause of DTS 5.1

the special features(same as the 10th anniversary ed) were all in SD

overall (3) considering its pulp fiction one of the most anticipated blu-ray releases they couldve provided us with better PQ and certainly HD special features if not 1080p at least 720 my reccomendation stick to d dvd ver. for now till they do a better transfer
