A thought came to mind while watching Labyrinth today in memory of David. Who owns the movie now? Disney or Jim Henson? Or is it full on Disney since they now own Lucasfilm and a chunk of Jim Henson (The Muppets)?

no only because the Dark Crystal Seems more likely to get special anniversary releases. I may be wrong but did Labyrinth ever get an Anniversary edition before? Dark Crystal I think more releases on formats for some reason like there is only 2 LaserDisc releases compared to 1 Labyrinth LaserDisc release.

I don't think either film had "anniversary editions." I do know The Jim Henson Co is still working on The Dark Crystal sequel. That said, Henson also had a Film Fan Short Film Competition for The Dark Crystal that is active and closes March 31, 2016. Here's the link: http://www.darkcrystal.com/fanfilm.php

This being the 35th anniversary for The Dark Crystal, Sony would earn themselves some credit if they released a UHD or even a digibook to go with Labyrinth... The old special edition DVD came with a little notepad of some of Henson's sketches, maybe they could source that with some of Froud's art.

I picked up Labyrinth and Dark Crystal immediately on release day from Best Buy years ago... I also upgraded Labyrinth in Digibook form when it was released last year. If Dark Crystal was given the same loving treatment this year I would happily jump on that upgrade as well.

I don't have Dark Crystal yet for whatever reason. Would looooove a remaster. The Labyrinth remaster is gorgeous.

I have several releases of both films and I most certainly would love a digibook of the Dark Crystal. I liked the special or was it collector's edition of the DVDs with the extra stuff. Those were nice looking cases and a digibook would be great as well.

With the little film cell? I remember when we bought that, I had to convince my mother that $50 for a movie was acceptable. Of course, growing up that was a favorite and I used to get called Kira because I had platinum blonde hair as a little girl so I won out in the end.

Ash vs Evil Dead started off as a 10 episode run and is now moving into it's third season. If this exceeds expectations it's possible we may get more.

Here's hoping it does a hell of a lot better at the premiere than the original. If you read Henson's biography, he was pretty devastated when the original film didn't go over well. He'd be pretty excited to see how well The Dark Crystal redeemed itself over the years.
