But then I rented Terminator. Is that game worth $60? HELL NO! The game was done alright, but the story line lasted 4-5 hours and there was no MP aspect at all for anyone into MP. I DO like how kid games, which have to cost JUST AS MUCH to make as a lot of the $60 games have price points at $40 brand new. They don't deliver the same graphics or length, and they price accordingly. When you have a game like Terminator it should have been in this category. Same goes for a few other titles, like Stormrise... That game is crap. I bought it for $60 because I wanted something that wasn't a shooter and it absolutely sucks. It's buggy and laggy. Should have been $40 at MOST. |

It seemed to me that Uncharted 1 was more difficult with its puzzles. It just seemed too linear to me, there wasn't a lot of exploring to be done. The room with the 4 objects that you have to carry took me 5 minutes and I didn't even realize to look at the book he carries around. It also seemed to me that you could only climb where you needed to go in order to solve a puzzle or continue on the mission. I liked Infamous because you could climb almost everything.
For me Far Cry 2 has more value at $60 than Uncharted 2, there is so much to explore in Far Cry 2. It does have the problem of returning guards at outposts, but I still play Far Cry 2. Plus a level maker, which is cool. Last edited by Weirded Wonder; 10-25-2009 at 02:55 PM. |

But think of it this way would you spend $60 on a PS3 game that's on a Blu-ray disc or would you spend $60 on a 360 game on a dvd? But even then 360 games are not any different because those still require lots of hard work into making. Plus games always have extra costs like licensing, getting the ESRB rating to be approved, and just yeah so many factors on how games really cost to make. And Ratchet and Clank maybe ok for kids but however that is 1 game for kids and teens that has more effort put into to making then the kids games that are like $40 or something like that. Respawning enemies. I want to kill everything!
Multiplayer-oriented games. No game should be even 1% less fun alone. 1st person shooters where you can't shoot everything. I should be able to shoot and break every pot, vase, TV, window, passerby, kitten, and light in any 1st person shooter. Terrible partner AI. Couple this with games where you have to keep an NPC alive and it is absolutely horrible. 90% of the times I lost in RE5 were because I couldn't rely on whatsherface to keep HERSELF alive. Games without abundant save/check points. If you are going to throw a battle at me out of the blue that is 20x harder than anything I could have prepared for, then at least give me a save point as not to make me redo my treasure hunting. And games like Tomb Raider that often require blindly jumping and hoping you catch something? I save after each JUMP. RPGs that REQUIRE you to kill more monsters than you'd normally fight just playing through the game. I don't like running in circles to trigger more random battles because I can't kill a boss. RPGs that require you to beat the game more than once to get the ‘true’ ending. I’m going to play the game exactly once so if I can’t see/get everything, then I assume it doesn’t exist and will base my opinion accordingly. Fighting games that don’t have a quick-continue option. I do not want to have to reselect my character, outfit, level, super combo, etc. every single time I lose. Sometimes I might, but not every effing time. Best setup: Start to continue, O to return to character select. Fighting games that artificially increase difficulties by removing limitations on special moves from your opponents. SONICSONICSONICSONIC BOOM! Yeah, that’s not 1.5 seconds of charge time, asshat. |

Or how about OG resident evil where you can't get into a wooden door to escape zombies because you don't have the key... HAHA

There is a one year difference between the original Fallout 3 and the GOTY. Think of it this way. How much would you pay to watch a concert of your favorite band today vs a concert of your favorite band (with the exact same performance except for a couple of new songs) 2 years from now? Would you be willing to pay more than MSRP if Sony gave you the chance to test out a prototype PS4 tomorrow? Then when the PS4 comes out 5 years later, will you feel like you were ripped off? Ugh! COD W@W was the absolute WORST game as far as this goes. Nothing is more annoying than literally infinite enemies and then you move up 10 feet and they magically stop appearing. This one aspect made Veteran mode atrocious. Even if they limited the respawning to "100" enemies I could have dealt with that. Why should I have to move to a certain spot for the enemies to stop when IRL I should just be able to kill them off. |

What I hate about games is when games that are overhyped and become good games because of the sucess of the 1st or 2nd game *cough*Halo 3*cough* but they really aren't that great or when a game is considered awesome because of over exagerated blood and gore *cough*Gears*cough* when really good games get average reviews because it isn't this or that.
Another thing I hate is when I play fighting games and I play online, 95% of the time, they will either choose a cheap character *cough*Sagat from SFIV*cough* or use cheap tricks over and over and over again. Last edited by TL OWNS U; 10-25-2009 at 01:42 AM. |

People trying to claim video games are art. I find this hard to believe, as much as I enjoy playing them. Why it isn't and shouldn't be considered an art form (as is) is that there is always a competetive element towards the games, and while there are some inspirational points within some games, the end result is completion without thesis, or even thought, whether it be the common first person shooter, the role playing games, puzzel and adventure games, or even games that many claim are of true artistic values (Bioshock, Shadow of the Collosus). This is where all artistry falls for ALL video games, choice, which makes all changes within the narrative, and the author or creator makes no relevance to what he wants us to talk or even think about what we play, there is no questioning of it's player self, we have no shame for killing (or beating) someone, as if the game is telling you who is right and who is wrong, but really we are all human.
Don't get me wrong I enjoy playing video games, but as entertainment, not for art. |

In a nutshell SHOVING, you can kill me ,shoot me or whatever. But NOT shove me
![]() I mean enemies that would send you back when they bunch ,kick or even worse shoot at you. Most boss fights are on some sort of a platform and you die fifty times by falling in the cracks in the platform by a shove after taking a hit. ![]() ![]() ![]() Developers can use whatever effect they like to simulate taking damage ,it doesn't have to be shoving . It's soooo annoying. I swear I spent half of game-play time in DMC4 running back to the enemies after being shoved back half a mile by every hit . inFAMOUS too ,when the turrets shoot you and if you want to run from the bullets you just run/shake in your place |

So the people complaining about the price tag about games, most games in Canada are sold at 69.99 , which comes out 79$ with tax... That's a lot.
Funny enough, Uncharted was priced at 59.99 , so I was very happy ![]() ps: I know Europe pays more but that's just because your money is worth more. ![]() |

1. Agree on the "Casual Gamer" difficulty. I cant STAND that garbage puppet game that everyone raved about, but it is the only think my girlfriend can handle.
2. Infinite enemy reinforcement in a confined area (ie, there is nowhere they could possibly be coming from). 3. Boss battles. How is some idiot wicked powerful (ie act in ways that give them unreal abilities) when the rest of the people in the world are mindless retards? 4. Uniform Game Cost. I cant think of any other industry that has a single price point for everything that comes out regardless of quality. It really kills the lower quality games, for example. 5. Sports games that come out every year without any real development (kind of a 4-A I guess). I cant think of a reason to buy an EA game ![]() Edit: I think the thing I like the least about people in general: acting as if they are getting ripped off when the buy something. Unless there is fraud; if you bought it, you bought it of your own free will. You would not have bought it if you did not think it was worth what you paid, so you did not get ripped off. If fraud is involved (I would say games like Haze are borderline Fraudulent - though I waited for the reviews so I escaped) then you may claim to have been ripped off. ![]() Read up a bit, it costs a lot of money to makes games and you have pay a lot of artists. You also know that blockbuster movies can cost 150 million + to make while games are at the MOST 20-50 million. Big difference. |
