I don't think I ever heard of IZNOGOUD but maybe it had a different German title.
I never saw one Terrence Hill Lucky Luke show...

Here's the German DVD of IZNOGOUD:

Thanks, i have to check it out. The Terence Hill ones are similar to the Hill/Spencer movies from the 70ties/80ties. At least as far as I remember. I didn't really care for the Hill Lucky Lukes even though I enjoy most of the Spencer/Hill stuff.

Hwow, Lucky Luke in live-action? I never even thought of that.
Looks amazingly similar and not even stupid.

Yeah, it has a good balance of seriousness and goofy comedy. The first live-action Lucky Luke film called Les Daltons was all slapstick (which was okay), but I prefer the balance of seriousness and humor in this one...

The first two Asterix movies had a good balance and didnt go overboard as well. The third Asterix film (the Olympic games one) was just plain awful.

Toddly, There were other ones before Les Daltons. The Terence Hill Lucky Luke (1991). I believe there was only one Terence Hill movie before the TV show (1993). There is, according to IMDB, a Turkish Lucky Luke film from 1974??!!?! Never knew.

I'll check out those Terence Hill Lucky Lukes one of these days. I'm just not sure if I can get past the datedness of it...

Here's a clip of the Turkish Lucky Luke that I never heard of till you told me. They call him "Red Kit" (cool name!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLxeIz3Qkco

Ah, so I guess this 'Lucky Luke'-film would be quite like the (original) "Asterix"-film(s)?
I liked at least one of them, I think I just saw the first.

I'm also interested in that "Dalton"-one actually, because Till Schweiger is in it.
I like him in "Tomb Raider 2" and 'Inglourious Basterds' and such.

I like your avatar by the way, I used to read that when I was little.
I guess you're waiting for the film(s) too?

Yeah, this Lucky Luke has the feel as the first two Asterix films (the 2nd one with Cleopatra being the best one)...

Concerning The Daltons, Lucky Luke is barely in the movie. Schweiger makes a good Lucky Luke too but its basically just an extended cameo for him since the movie is just about the Dalton bros.

Im excited for the Tintin movies although the first books they are doing arent that exciting. I wish they just did Temple of Sun instead.

It's funny how that ehm... Unichorn-one or something,
not sure what it's in English cause I got Dutch or Belgian books here.
But it's the one I read most, so it's strange that it's just the one being used for the film.

I liked that one with the Lotus too... it was kinda scary with the crazy-drug and all. :P

Bought Lucky Luke last weekend and watched it last night. PQ is excellent, highly detailed. The cinematography and set design is imo very stunning and beautiful. They really succeeded at bringing the visual style of the comics to "life".

I am not so sure what to think of the characters, the humor and the story though. For the first half hour or so i thought "that's just silly", but then as the story progresses, it suddenly starts to work out. I'll have to watch it again soon.

Does anyone have any details on the Lucky Luke: Go West! animated feature? the listing here is woahfully incomplete.

I'm most interested in A)does it also have English sub-titles?, B)Is it region locked to Region B?

I'd love to import the live action movie, but since its region locked, I'm not going to bother. To bad, looks cool as heck.

The Canadian DVD has excellent quality, anamorphic, DD 5.1 French, and English subtitles. The movie is fair though. There really is no need to get the blu-ray of this since it is an animated film and the DVD quality is already excellent. If it was an awesome animated film that you would watch over and over, then I would consider a blu-ray, but just go for the Canadian DVD.

The German Blu-ray only has French or German DTS audio with German subtitles.

I have an OPPO BDP-80 Blu-ray player. It is modded, so you can choose any region. I have set it to region A manually and the french Lucky Luke Blu-ray plays just fine. I double checked the region setting with a different film that is locked region B, and the locked disc would not play.

So i'd wager to say, that Lucky Luke is in fact at least Region A & B. Don't know about C, but i guess i could test that as well.

As long as this hasn't been confirmed to be all regions oder region A & B on another player, order at your own risk.

Though I didn't like the movie, i must admit it's one of the most beautiful BD i've come across these past few months.
The video quality is just amazing and the DTS HD MA audio simply rocks. My subwoofer is in love, so are all my speakers.
