Gone with the WInd. I plan on buying it for my wife for X-mas. It was $42.00 the last several days on Amazon, but I was waiting for payday to order it. I was going to order it today, but the price went up to $54.95!!!!!

Now I'm frustrated

I hate when that happens. I would have definitely purchased this at that price if it weren't for my Black Friday-2 week shopping spree. Now I'm broke, but I'll keep a slush fund of a few hundred going forward. I hate getting caught with my pants down.

I keep going into work and drooling over the Harry Potter 1&2 Ultimate Editions...but at 44.99 CDN a piece, I just can't justify them at the moment.

If the price for all BD's was to drop to about $15 or so, I would replace most of my DVD's, except the ones I wouldn't watch again anyway. If the price was to drop below $10, BD would exceed DVD in sales.

haha, no it wouldn't. DVD is still a monster in the market, there are FAR more DVD players out there than there are Blu-Ray players.

And what do you think would happen to Blu-ray player sales if BDs were $10??? Blu-ray has some ground to cover to catch up to DVDs, but getting BDs to a more reasonable range and comparable to todays DVD prices would make a huge difference. Yes we are getting there, but a $10 blu-ray is far and few between, especially in the eyes of the average consumer who shops at B&M mostly.

I'm waiting for Miracle to drop. My max for a movie is $24.99. Ideally for a catalog title $19.99 or less.

a previous poster mentioned i can pick it up at HMV here in canada for $49.99. ordering from amazon.com after taxes, currency conversion, foreign charge on my CC would cost around...60? 65? if i can't get it at HMV, i'll wait for boxing day, keep my fingers crossed. if not, boom amazon.com here i come!

wait a minute, it's 49.99 on amazon.ca maybe i'll bring the HMV printout and amazon printout to futureshop to see if they will price match.

$20 is totally worth it.

And for me that would be about a $3 difference. Getting it at Costco includes Tax which is 8.75% in Sac.

Ouch..it's 6% here in Pa...very true though with the tax. You really have to put it in perspective. I guess I'll get it but with my luck it will drop to $15 next week. Now I need to decide if I should order The Sopranos or wait for the whole series set.

i'm kinda frustrated that some older catalog titles like Con Air, Into The Wild, and Layer Cake haven't hit the $15 and below range lately, probably due to lack sales and consumer interests. I'd love to have 'em in my collection but $17-18 is still too high given the current sales that have occurred recently.
