Well they could be working the new MOVE controller into future systems. Who know's, one thing I have noticed is there is a national backorder on blu-ray drives. I have tried to order a PC with one and they cancelled my order due to the drive.

With a full month of Heavy Rain sales, and the releases of Final Fantasy XIII and God of War, March NPD data should prove positive for Sony if there is ample supply.

I went to buy a new PS3 yesterday, and EVERY place in my town was sold out. I had to travel half an hour out of town to get one.

Looks like it might be a US thing. The store I work at here is full of PS3'S. The lowest amount we've had since November was 4 and usually when it hits that low we receive another batch of 60 or so.

Same here, there's almost always stock, but not because of low demand. They just always seem to be on top of shipments.

probably is bc Ive been looking for PS3s for weeks and havent seen one in stores for quite some time now

Even the biggest electronic store here that usually carry a load of PS3 don't have any.

I've been checking every time I go in BB, GameStop, Target, or Wal-Mart and the only time I saw one was about a week ago when Target had a single 120 gig model in stock. It was gone the next day though.

Amazon.com is even sold out. The cheapest one is 370 dollars from SteelBookShop.

I'll be curious to see if BB has them tomorrow. I haven't seen any there in a quite a while and this is a bad time for them not to have plenty of stock. Actually, right now the website says no Best Buys within 50 miles of my location have them but I still plan to check when I go to pickup some blu-rays tomorrow.

Crazyness. My store received about 60 3 weeks ago and we only had 4 left and we just received another shipment of 60. I don't expect them to last long. About 15 were sold in 4 days since I was there.

Yeah, it seems to be pretty bad here. With one of their biggest games going on sale tomorrow, the BB ad doesn't even have any PS3s or PS3 accessories in it. They just have God of War and a few other games advertised. I wonder if the shortage is why since you'd think they'd (Sony would have paid to) have PS3 stuff plastered all over the ad for one of their biggest days.

As of two weeks ago, a Fry's Electronics near me was stocked with a ton of PS3's. As a matter of fact, they could have been overstocked. But on the other hand, I have seen it less and less frequently in other retail stores like Target and Best Buy.

I was actually worried because when we only had 4 left it was right before Final Fantasy came out and I was like I hope Sony will send consoles and sure enough, the day before we received that shipment and we received about another 20 or so end of the last week to prepare for GOW. They are selling like hotcakes at our store.

Just checked the Best Buy website for stores in my area and none of them have any PS3's either.

I don't think having them not be in stock when an exclusive hits is all that big of a deal.

I think it was a much bigger deal that they were sold out when Final Fantasy 13 hit, not to mention all the releases in Jan/Feb.

Than I think you are clearly under-estimating the release of God of War 3.

Our store received 4 x the amount of God of War 3 copies compared to final fantasy 13.

So? If you can't get a PS3 for God of War 3 on release day, you wait a couple weeks until you can find one.

You can't get a PS3 for FF13 on release day, you buy yourself a 360.

This has nothing to do with the size of the release, and everything to do with the impact on Sony.
