Opium & the Kung Fu Master was okay, but I am waiting for the better Shaw Bros. flicks. I think we will start seeing a lot more in the next year, now that Blu-ray has become more common.

If you are martial art fans I also recommend fist of legend. Also play 2 games for dreamcast called shenmue 1 and 2, they still are the greatest games ever made and possibly most expensive to date to create.

Yeah, Five Deadly Venoms is one of my absolute favorites. The DVD is so great.

Can someone compile a list of all Region A Martial Arts blu-rays that have been released? I didn't know that a couple of these were even out. And maybe a complete list of the ones that are scheduled, too?

I need to figure out a way to keep this organized in my head. If I know what ones are definitively scheduled, I can start pre-ordering them.

I think I have most martial arts movie released on Blu-ray. These are what I would consider Martial arts films in a very loose sense. All the films listed play on region A Blu-ray players and are English friendly. Country code following the movie are where the Blu-ray was released. Fist of Legend is Dragon Dynasty?

Anyways, whenever it comes out they need to release Twin Warriors (Tai ji Zhang San Feng) at the same time. That one seems to be often overlooked, but it's another very good Jet Li + Siu-hou Chin flick.

Default 36th Chamber of Interlaced Shaolin

According to DVDBeaver, the upcoming release of 36th Chamber of Shaolin is in fact in 1080i instead of 1080p and because of this, I'm gonna ask does anyone have the French import of the 36th Chamber Trilogy and if so, is it in 1080p?

Yeah thats too bad, I was looking forward to this for months now! Still thinking about getting it. I mean, what are the odds that they will re-release it in 1080p? Probably pretty slim.

I think there is a good chance it will be released in 1080p, but not by Dragon Dynasty. You will have to import it from somewhere.

It's currently being discussed in the Martial Arts films thread.

Iron Monkey looked good.

The Dragon Dynasty series has released some classics, but I have yet to view them as they have mostly had atrocious reviews in terms of PQ.

I'd recommend Ip Man, Fearless, and Fists of Legend as good starters.

If you're looking for some older titles then you may want to look into 36th Chamber of Shaolin, Delightful Forest, and Enter the Dragon. They tend to have their issues however, Shoalin and Forest are both 1080i transfers and Forest in fact has a replacement program because of a faulty first pressing, and Enter the Dragon didn't include HD audio.

If you like Martial Arts comedies, I'd recommend Kung Fu Hustle.

Hardly a dealbreaker, though. The DTS HD track didn't sound very different from the DD 640kbps Cantonese track. DD 640 on Blu is superior to DD on dvd.
