March 30th is still 2.5 months away, and it's 3+ months after the release of the film, which is fairly normal nowadays.
And it's only the announcement, which is fairly common for a studio-tentpole title whose disk was already in the works six months before the movie opened.

Studios depend more on the disk release for 50-50 of a movie's business (at least), so the theatrical release is more of a formality before the announcement.

The most recent example I can think of is Paranormal Activity which came 2.5 months after the theatrical release.

but paranormal activity is different in that it sat on the shelf for 2 years before being released in theaters. it wasnt really a NEW movie. its more of an exception than an example of whats "fairly normal"

Really enjoyed this film. Downey did a great job. Will be buying this for sure.

Though this is pretty good news if true, there's already a thread on this.

Dont worry about it buddy. It makes no difference whatsoever to the forums, it just matters to the idiots who wanna spam threads. Worst comes to the worst, this thread gets closed and merged with the other one.

I'll be getting this the day it comes out. The last two weeks of March are going to put a dent in my bank account.
