well so far in the US the StudioCanal collection is comprised of a whopping 3 titles so I certainly think the Kino thread should be a sticky as they have just as may titles now on blu.
god only knows when Lionsgate will choose to grace us with some more titles even though for me it is a moot point since I have gotten them from the UK and France.
I certainly don't feel like watching my hair turn gray waiting for slow-%s# Lionsgate to release some more studiocanal bds in the US.

eco cases are absolutely the work of Satan.

as far as the Studiocanal thread I really don't think it really makes a lot of sense for it to be stickied until it has a bunch more titles.
I mean I don't really get why it is stickied in the US section right now.
now in the UK forum sure, but not US.
maybe they could decide on a minimum number of titles released requirement.
just my 2 cents.

Freakin' awesome news about Steamboat Bill, Jr.! It's not only my favorite Keaton film, but my all-time favorite movie EVER and I had no expectations that I'd be seeing it in HD this soon. FANTASTIC! Now, here's hoping Gaylord Carter's organ score is included (uncompressed PCM would be great, but not completely necessary).

It's just a rumor for now, but Amazon even has it for a release date of July 6th. It prob is my fav Keaton as well, but Keaton is one of my fav Actor/Director combos (with Cassavetes, Dennis Hopper, etc) so it's hard to choose a best of his.

Awesome! If anything, I hope people get exposed to Kino releases.

Another positive review for "Battleship Potemkin" on Blu-ray from the LA Times.

Also, ended up purchasing "Fallen Angels". If you own The Criterion Collection's "Chungking Express", for me it's a must to own Wong Kar-wai's "Fallen Angels". Used the 10% off coupon (non-member) + my membership discount and it came to about $19.43 for the Blu-ray.

Ballast is my favorite release by Kino so far. A great film that hardly gets any pub and would be worthy of any of the numerous collections that we have available now.

For anyone (else) thinking that Steamboat Bill, Jr. was a possible error, I have been told that the web site should be updated next week confirming this release.

Go check the Avatar thread, it's truly sticky in there because of all the bull going on

I am quite happy for the upcoming release of Steamboat Bill Jr. If they make as good a job with it then what was done for The General I will be extremely happy. I hope this mean's that The General did well in sales and that more Buster Keaton movies are coming to Blu-ray. I would love to have Sherlock Holmes Jr nest

I believe Sherlock Jr. and Our Hospitality has been announced in Kino's catalog for this year on blu. So 4 Buster Keaton blu's this year.

Oh and I will never go into the Avatar thread.

I'm going to steal this for my sig

My copy of Battleship Potemkin arrived today and I really enjoyed watching it for the first time in years. The DVDtalk review kinda got my expectations too high, the video doesn't look bad at all but it wasn't as great as The General (imo). So I dont know how that warrants a perfect 5 star rating on the video unless your judging it only as the best looking copy available? Fallen Angels should get here sometime next week...

Since this thread is now a sticky, I guess I will contribute. I only own 1 Kino Blu-ray so far: Fallen Angels which I have watched 3 times & love more with each viewing. Like kndy said, if you own Chungking Express, you need Fallen Angels to have the complete viewing!

Still need to pickup The General, Battleship Potemkin, and pre-order Happy Together & The Sun.

And Ballast. Seriously, do I need to break into everyone's home and politely force them to watch it?

I decided to finally join blu-ray.com because of this thread (see it did need stickied). I've been lurking around since 07, mainly to find out about releases. A great tool for working on my collection.

I'm happy that blu-ray is finally getting some silents. I'll be picking up The General and Battleship Potemkin next week.
