I guess it depends on many things.

If I really like the universe of the serie but one of the title is so-so, I'll probably still buy it because often it still adds to the complexity of the universe. (Planet Of The Apes, Batman Anthology for instance)

If the movies are very much connected plot-wise and that some of the movies are not so good as film but still interesting for fans of the serie (for its advancement in the plot), I'll buy it.

Other than that, no...

I don't have that itch. I only have the 1st Matrix and don't ever plan to add the sequels. I only have the 1st Starship Troopers and would never add the sequels. And I only have X-Men and X2, because I didn't care for X-Men 3. I only buy sequels if I liked them. Never to complete a set.

I have no need for the sequels of these franchises even though the first films are awesome.

Agreed. The first ones are great stand-alone films and really never needed sequels.

I have the Matrix digibook, and no interest in owning Reloaded and Revolutions.

I recently picked up The Godfather Part I and II, but have no interest in owning Part III.

I'll never say never, because if I see them for sale for $1 one day, I'll pick them up, but I'm in no rush to complete the collections.

I'm on the fence with this one....I usually will not buy a sequel just to complete the series... However, the exception to this rule is if all the movies' storylines are connected...

I dont really like Saw 2... yet i own it becuase its part of the entire storyline...whereas i would buy Cube 1 and 3 but Cube 2 was just awful

Didn't Butterfly Effect 2 have Smallville's Lois Lane topless in it? I'm pretty sure it was that movie or some other terrible sequel that my friend talked me into seeing.

I've bought bad movies in the name of completism (Mummy 3, Matrix sequels, Batman & Robin, etc) but it just depends. If I REALLY like the first movies in a series, I'll probably buy all of them (I wasn't wild about POTC 3, but I loved the first two, so I had to have the 3rd one no matter what). If I only kinda like the first movie, then I might not bother with the sequels. But then again, I bought all the Saw movies. There's no telling with me, I have no set pattern.

I used to do this all of the time, like I owned all of the Jaws movies. I am not really like anymore, unless it is a movie I like. Last 2 I bought like that were Wayne's World! Party!

I do however weight the options of the series. Like The Matrix or Godfather movies, I picked up the boxset

I'm currently waiting for Transporter 3 to drop down to $10 before I buy it. It's the worst Transporter movie of the series but I'll still grab it only if it's super-cheap.

Maybe to some extent. Some of the sequels I just have because they were part of a box set (Matrix & Spidey). But in the case of the Batman Anthology there was no way in living hell I was going to put Batman Forever or Batman and Robin on my shelf so I just imported the first two.

Sometimes.
I bought Die Hard 2 recently to complete the series but I also enjoy the movie, just not nearly as much as the other 3.
I want to someday own Mission Impossible 1 and 3 but not 2. It won't bother me not owning that garbage.

I'm only like this with certain artists with music but that's it. i do own the godfather trilogy even though i don't like 3 but it was a set and at the time i couldn't get 2 with out the other. but for x-men i only own 1 & 2, and same with spiderman since i bought the trilogy and returned the 3rd as damaged and got a new movie.

Weird! I try my very best to forget that most sequels exist, let alone buy them.
