Yes I read it too, they are pretty notorious for having "insider" knowledge and jumping the gun, but like I say, hope its true

Still no sign of ANY MGM titles getting the UHD treatment. Staggering since the other studios are broadly supporting catalogue titles on UHD

Oh yes please. This fun romp is number one on my MGM 4K wants list. I don't think that the Blu-ray looks great (no better than a DVD), & that a new 4K transfer from the original negatives will look so much better.

North By Northwest coming later this year. But I agree that WHV are slow in releasing MGM titles on UHD. I'd like to see Dr Zhivago, Ryans Daughter and of course Where Eagles Dare on UHD.

Even though Eastwood had approved the 4K restoration of Where Eagles Dare, I heard rumors that the release was being delayed. According to what I've heard, after one of the film's producers passed away, the producer's estate has been holding up the rights. Someone with more knowledge would need to confirm if this is actually true. If it is, then it's likely all about money.

There has also been production delays for several releases. So perhaps it's the confluence of the two?
