I'm with ya! The Farewell DVD is already pretty good, but would be amazing on Blu!

The Farewell Tour on HD DVD is fabulous! Great PQ and the DTS soundtrack is very good. Funny but the Henley songs (The Boys of Summer, Sunset Grill, and Dirty Laundry) are the best on the disc, IMO. The song selection is much better here than on Hell Freezes Over. A must own on Blu for those that don't have the Red.

you can see my parents in the Farewell DVD in the audience... might be more recognizable on Blu! LOL Seriously though, I am hanging out for this release. I don't think Hell Freezes Over would make a difference, unless they filmed it on 35mm?

As I've said before, the Farewell Tour HD-DVD is the only justification you need to still own an HD-DVD player. The DTS-HD Master AQ, in my opinion, is only second to the Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Blu for concerts.

Hell Freezes Over would be great just for the lossless soundtrack alone...I think it was only shot on video right? So no real benefit being in Blu on the video side of things.

The Eagles being who they are...you would've thought they'd got their act together and released several blu titles by now....the Stones are leading the way I guess.

I whole-heartedly agree. The world will rejoice if they release Hell Freezes Over on Blu Ray. The concert still sounds great on DVD, but the picture is terrible. I would love to listen to it in 7.1 DTS HD Master Audio and watch in 1080p! The thought gets me more excited than it should. Haha.

Totally! I can't believe the Eagles haven't done this already. The picture on Hell Freezes Over is lackluster, just like "The Dance" by Fleetwood Mac... I wish they had done that one in 16:9

It couldn't have been in 16:9 as they didn't shoot it on film.

That concert or whatever was shot on a videotape with SD cameras.

I don't get why titles like the Farewell Tour have taken so long and still never been released on Blu Ray. What's the deal?
