Trailer for those interested or hadn't seen it yet. Really looking forward to this and can't wait for some information about it's release. Nothing bad in the trailer but some of the words and what they say may be NSFW.

I just added that becuase some people find the littlest things to be NSFW and I just added that as a precaution to those who do. I don't think the trailer has anything that I wouldn't watch at work but different people for different things.

Not getting a snuff film type vibe from the trailer though and this is coming from someone who hate's the Saw series and anything like it.

Neither am I. The music creates an atmosphere of tension, which deepens the suspense and leaves the viewer with a sense of disquietude. The film may tap into the subject of human depravity, but nothing as abhorrent as a snuff film (which, by the way, is little more than an urban legend).

It's not for me either, after seeing the trailer and reading about. It does have A Sleeping Profoundly (I mean by that Eyes Wide Shut) feel to it. Those movies are just not for me.

I love these trailers where right in the middle they put bold large one word things:

Lemony Snicket is the fake name of an author. She was in a movie that was based on his books. Nothing else.

I got this from the BD that Vinegar Syndrome was selling during the sale.

I've wanted to see this so bad since I saw the trailer way back when it was nearing to come out cuz Browing is visually interesting but also the concept the trailers teased me in a way that intrigued.

And I don't know if I liked it.

Female writer/director making a movie based on what I saw in that trailer. Okay. Let's see how she tackles that stuff. I dunno. I just felt like, it was a bit stuffy about itself. Like everything is very passive almost. I get that people would be dead or used to certain aspects of their environment. Regardless if it's normal or not but... it still just feels off to me.

I was more intrigued to see what was going to happen next. I feel like it didn't go far enough. I was a bit let down. It's interesting and interesting things happen. But it's not shown engaging enough for the viewer. It's not badly acted. Looks visually fine w/ the well it was shot. Characters aren't really interesting, even the lead. It was a very weird experience watching this and just sticking w/ it cuz I wanted to see where it went.

Then the very end happens and... I don't care what they show me or expect to feel about it?

Really wish this thing was cleaned up cuz it looks fine but it looks like if it was remastered it probably would have suited me more. The palette is very dry at times but I'd assume this film looks better than what I saw.
