Default Movies you liked but would only watch once...

Have you ever watched a movie and wondered if you like or not? Some movies can be just average (not bad or good).

Last night, I was watching The Box. It was an interesting and bizzare film but couldn't decide if I could watch it again. I also like the Saw movies but won't watch them twice.

The movie that immediately comes to mind is "Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith". I am a big Star Wars fan, and unlike many people I can rewatch the first and second prequels, but have no yearning to rewatch that movie.

I rented and watched "The Wrestler" and now it's cheap...... but not sure how much I would/wouldn't like it with a second viewing...... I'd watch it again.... just not sure if I'm willing to pay to watch it again......

I thought it was "good" when I saw it too

Beta, I completely agree. It was a good film with great performances but idk if I'd want to watch it again.

That is pretty strange, specialy when most people will say that the third one is the best of the prequels, even among those who hate the prequels and we know how many of those there are

For me it's usualy war movies that have that effect on me, specialy very powerful ones. Like for example, Saving Private Ryan, excellent movie but it's a little too intense for repeat viewing IMO. Band Of Brothers is also another example, amazing series but I am not sure I would want to watch it again, it's just a little too much for me.

For some reason I can handle the hokey dialog and romance - and even Jar-Jar (!) in the first two prequels, but I have a hard time with how easily Anakin is turned to the Dark Side in the third one. When I saw it in the theater I thought to myself, "you've got to be kidding!" I'm with you on Saving Private Ryan and other movies like that (Schindler's List, etc.). Great movies, but I don't like walking away depressed.

Nice lol. My thread started this trend.

I will say I often times find myself unsure of movies that are thought of to be polarizing... which is counterintuitive.

But to answer the question, I know many people that are unsure of whether or not they enjoyed The Matrix sequels. You can either think it was awesome for its action or terrible for its writing! I don't understand the indecision with movies like that imo. Two different ways to interpret the film I guess.

The second Matrix film was an indecisive one for me, but the third was definitely a dud.

I know I'm in the complete minority here, but I love all three. I just love the whole point of the series, the themes, and the story. The first is a masterpiece in many ways, the second I think is very entertaining, and the third is a fitting conclusion, albeit a bit of a letdown. Yes, the two sequels did not live up to the first and became too disconnected, but I appreciate them.

Burn After Reading. I didn't hate it, I didn't particularly like it, but I was struck by how completely minor and inconsequential it seemed

Am I the only one that notices the title of the thread doesn't match the question in the OP

Anyway

This one's for Squid ()

The Fountain

I watched it not that long ago and after I was like, "um..hmmm..."

Wasn't sure if I liked it a lot or if I didn't like it that much.

All I was certain of was that Hugh Jackman did fantastic.

A couple days later I settled on a rating of 7/10. I also placed it in the "good, but won't ever watch it again" category.

Paranormal Activity did a number on me, I liked it but I actually had some trouble falling asleep for a couple days after and therefore I don't think I can watch it again, I like my sleep too much. I know a lot of people didn't find it all that scary, but certain scenes in that movie are EXACTLY the kind of things that freak me out.

If you watch it in the right settings, : nice subwoofer, sound is at reference volume and have a nice display. Along with the lights off and quiet in the house, no distractions. It's pretty scary. When i watch a movie, i watch a movie im not sitting there with a cellphone up my ass.

I'm not 100% positive I'd never watch it again since I just watched it for the first time, but American Beauty.
