Default How do you watch movies?

So how many people here go to the theater on a regular basis? How much does it cost per ticket where you're at? Or do you just plain skip the theaters and catch it on the internet/cable or satellite/store or online rental?

Edit: as always I forgot to include something in my poll: "Watch Movies on TV." If you're one of those people you can always mention it below.

I skip the theater all together and either rent, or buy a movie I really like and will watch over and over.

I normally wait till they are available and buy them on Blu-ray. Though, if I wait long enough I will watch them on DirecTV.

Movies, where I live, cost about $8.50. When I lived in New York City they were between $10 and $11.
I, however, don't really enjoy the theatrical experience. I like to move around and not worry about whether the person next to me is going to be bothered by my talking to somebody else. I like it to be an intimate affair with friends, so I typically wait until home-video release. The only movies I see in the theater are movies that I've been anticipating for a little too long to wait for home release . . . that is unless my dad offers to take me to a movie. I go to movies I don't even care about with him, because I don't see him often.

But, yeah, I couldn't care less about theaters. I think they're obsolete and strictly in business as a tradition. Like Christmas Tree farms.
I prefer DVD/Blu-ray/VHS/whathaveyou

I don't really enjoy the theater anymore, people are too loud and annoying.
For the most part, I wait till it's released on media, then buy mostly, and occasionally rent.

I really only see animated movies in the theaters because i feel you can't go wrong with animated. Although if my g/f has something in particular to see i go see it with her. Oh by the way it's roughly 10 bucks a ticket and then add soda and popcorn and your looking at 30 or so buck with candy bought outside of the theaters

I go to the theaters. Tickets only cost $8.00 here and like $6.50 to $7.00 for a matinee. My girlfriend and I mostly go to the movies during the weekdays for matinees. There are hardly anyone there and those that are there are older people.

If I miss a movie or two during it's theatrical release I pick them up on rental and have a fun movie night with my girlfriend or friends.

I rarely go to the theaters anymore unless there is something that I absolutely can't wait to see. I have nothing against theaters...and really enjoy watching 35mm film but I can't stand being around noisy people, crying babies, cellphones, occasional bad sound, occasional bad projection, horrible masking, uncomfortable seating, bad lighting/exit signs shining on the screen, sticky/buttery floors, foul smells, and any other unnecessary annoyance.

Go to the theater when its a movie me and my friends really want to see. Other than that it is Netflix with friends and buying. Movies here cost about 10 bucks give or take which theater you go to.

Movie theater. I've yet to see a movie at home that comes anywhere close to being the same experience. I also don't seem to have anywhere near the problems at my theater with other people talking/cells or I just don't notice it as much. To me, seeing a blockbuster/popcorn muncher in the theater is a no brainer!

Movie theater regularly, having a pass I have no reason to miss on the stuff I want to see on the big screen.

"How do you watch movies?"

With my eyes, you silly person! -> <-

But, seriously? I attend the theatre regularly, buy Blu-rays, and get Blu-rays for review (98% of which are films that I would never normally think to watch as my editor-in-chief keeps all of his favourites for himself).

I like to go to the cinema if the film is a guaranteed winner. Only if I'm completely sure though as the price per ticket is £7 for an adult. Then there's the sweets and drinks. Not cheap, but when the film is sure to be worth it then it's a great experience. Even better when you can get there during the week while the kids are at school.
