Funny after everything he did, never in 7 seasons did I ever find myself rooting against Vic Mackey.

I don't know that I ever rooted against him, but I knew he wasn't really a hero. I certainly rooted for him over Aceveda and Kavanaugh (who may have been in the right), but I knew he wasn't in the right all the time. Again, that's why I thought it was a great show. The character I probably felt the most for was "Lemonhead".

Kenny Johnson was great as Lem. He was my favorite character of all. Kenny is pretty great in everything I've seen him in, which is why I'm so excited that he's coming back to FX on Sons of Anarchy this fall as a biker.

I didn't know that Kenny Johnson was coming to Sons, that's great news. I love the cast of Sons. Outside of Perlman and Sagal, there aren't a lot of big names, but like The Shield the writing is so engaging and casting is so spot on, that the show really shines.

Yeah, Kenny actually made his debut on Sons in the season 2 finale. Click on my signature link for the SOA thread and check out the very first post. I've been updating with all the season 3 casting news, and Kenny's character is discussed there too.

Did Amazon still have that insanely great $64 deal for the complete series that it had last month?

Based on this recommendation, I'm going to be watching it.

If I thought Oz ended far too soon, I'm assuming this will be right up my alley.

The Shield was incredible and groundbreaking. You never saw a cop show, that dealt in corruption quite like this. The writing was brilliant, the cast was incredible and most of the episodes will leave you on the edge of your seat in a holy sh!t moment needing to know what happens next. Those 7 seasons where a fun damn ride. One I've revisited time and time again.

We need a thanks button. Just so - you know. We can say 'thanks!'

I like that it was seven seasons, as well. Some other shows that ended far too early for me were Deadwood and Oz, and I'll not be amused if Mad Men and Breaking Bad get cancelled any time soon.

I too am a huge Deadwood fan and that show did end way too early. The Shield had the perfect length and not to spoil anything, but one of my all-time favorite series finales. So it's not one of those "wait it ended like that?" kind of moments, it was fantastic. I do not know what Dead Men is, and as for Breaking Bad, it has been a huge ratings success for the network, and was already renewed for next season and shows no signs of slowing down. The plan originally was for 5 seasons but just last week the series creator Vince Gilligan said he really can't put an end game on that one yet, so we've probably got a few more seasons of that at the very least too.

I'm at episode 10 now. Dutch and Vic are my
two favorites so far. I love that the creepy stalker from SoA is such a nice dude in this series.

Dutch actually does something later on I think in season 2, that ruined his character forever for me. It might not be big to you, but I was so disgusted and revolted by him for the remainder of the series from that moment on.
[Show spoiler]I am a huge animal lover, and him strangling that helpless cat to death just so he could see the life leave it's eyes after the serial killer told him why he killed, was absolutely disgusting to me.

Just read that, and yep. That's just wrong. But an interesting development.

Connie pisses me off.
