I would have to rate Definitive Technology first. They have great service (Chet) and I've been pleased with their products. The only other speakers I've had hands-on experience with is Paradigm, also a good product.

This is a tough one, because there are so many companies with great models. Here are probably my top 5:

Quad
Magnepan
B&W
Wilson Audio
M&K

(RIP)
Linaeum (bought and absorbed by Aura)
A/D/S

I don't have enough experience to list 5 since I've only owned polk monitors and now the cinema speakers from Elemental Designs. I'm kind of surprised no one listed them since they represent one of the best values in large towers.

I guess the question is really whether we are talking "money is no object" or not.

Hey everyone. Stop being boring. If the speakers are available in the local Best Buy or other mass market online dealers such as Amazon, I will not be interested in them. My dream speakers are expected to be exciting, unusual, and one of a kind. In addition to the speakers listed in my post #29, here are another 5 speakers I wouldn't mind owning.

Coincident

D+S Sound Labs

Daedalus Audio

Davidson

David Wiener Collection

There can't be anything much more unique than a speaker with NACA Ducts.
