I live in Arizona. We're not affected by DST.

Did they see Civil War as well? It's got the lovely 1 star too. How lame. |

The extra light in the evenings makes the summers seem a lot longer...and I appreciate that. Best of all, I enjoy hearing people whine about it. It hilarious as hell when I hear people complain about being tired or having trouble adjusting. Funny stuff. I'm 58 years old and I've had cancer a couple of times...and I'll wake up tomorrow, rarin' to go with no adjustment period at all required. Anybody who can't tolerate an hour change needs to go to a doctor because you are in seriously bad shape. Bring it on! |

I don't mind gaining the hour of sleep, but the losing the hour of sleep is what really bugs me, and I think most people I know. It's not about people being in bad shape. It just messes with the internal clock. Same way jet lag does. I live in Texas, and they're trying to pass a bill to do away with daylight savings. I would be very happy if they do.

For countless generations, tens of millions of people have worked shifts. It's a 24 hour world.
At the risk of sounding harsh, if people can't adjust quickly, they are either sickly or they have a weak constitution. I thinks it's usually the latter. Specifically, they have a weak psychological constitution. Folks are conditioned to believe that they are delicate. I tend to regard a disturbed internal clock in the same way I regard lactose intolerance...for every one person who actually has problems with their internal clock, there are another fifty people who THINK they have a problem. |

I long for the abolishment of Daylight Saving Time. I hate the fact that there is still daylight at often nearly 9 o'clock at night. Ugh! Just end it already and keep the country on non-DST time. Some areas of the US already get by without using DST, so if they can then the rest of the country can, too.
Daylight Saving Time starts in March and lasts until November. It's in the summer, not winter. |

i'm jealous
i have to work tomorrow and monday, off tuesday and wednesday, then work thursday, then off friday and saturday (my normal off-days every week). that thursday shift is just messing my week up. i'd much rather just work on tuesday and have the 4 days off in a row. ah well, it's only a half-shift, so it shouldn't be that bad. ot: changing times in the spring has never really affected me. it's the one in the fall that affects me. i always window up getting up earlier than planned on the morning of the day we change. i normally wake up about 6:00 every day. on days i don't have to work, i usually get up, use the bathroom and get back in bed for another hour or so. and during the "time gain", i'll wake up about 5:00 i'll do the same thing. even if i go to bed an hour later, it won't help. i know that's weird, but it's always been that way with me. and i can go to bed at my normal time on the spring time change and be as rested as normally would with another hour. as it is, i only sleep about 6 hours a night, anyway. and i always wake up by myself before my alarm clock goes off. i just lay in bed resting until to does, and then i get up. on off day, though, i don't set my alarm unless i have plans that require me getting up early.
