They only had DVD versions on the shelf because all the BD versions were pulled for preorders... This is not the same as them ONLY carrying DVD's like your original post suggested...

Here are 2 more people complaining Ashamed Pegasus... I'm telling you.. its confusion city!

Not exactly the same thing I mentioned, but its along those lines. I paid $11 OTD for mine at Target so I'm happy

Again, the stores are getting in both versions, it's just that the associates have no clue there is a difference...

"She found a Toy Story 1 in a blu-ray box and I asked her if they had Toy Story 2 in a blu-ray box and she said no. I'm not sure she completely understood what I was looking for or what she was looking at."

They are there... Whether or not they can actually see a difference between the two cases is another story...

If your store only has them in DVD cases it means they're either sold out of BD's, have them reserved for preorders, or are still sitting in the back because the associates can't figure out why they sent their store 2X as many copies as they needed...

My TRU had both package versions out on the shelves. About an equal amount of each. Only the Blu-packaged ones were in a security case however.

My Toys R Us was out of Blu-rays as well. All taken for the pre-orders. Went to Frys, where I was told they don't take coupons as of the first of March. Finally found them at Target, but for a little more than I wanted to spend. Still a great deal.

Seems like everywhere people are complaining that only DVD sized Toy Story was available at TRUS... and the lack of reservation for pre-orders would concern me if I had pre-ordered blu sized and they didn't have any...

What point exactly are you trying to make here?... TRU is not a big seller of Blu-ray's and they did not order nowhere near as many copies as they did on DVD... Most stores pulled their BD copies for preorders and that's why people are not finding them on the shelf... I guarantee if they did not have a $15 off promo there would be hardly anyone complaining about not finding them...

You didn't even preorder from TRU, you probably did not even buy your copies from them, why are you so concerned about this anyway?... A lot of us who preordered at TRU walked out the door with 3 movies for $13, and without using multiple coupons on each movie... If you got there late and all BD copies were gone that's your fault...

I didn't buy them because of the stupidity... the TRUS in miami DID NOT seperate the blu cases... and ALOT of the stores did not.

I keep making the point because at least 2 posts per page on the slickdeals thread is everyone *****ing about the DVD sized cases...

and most of all, because it seems to bug you Just kiddin man.

If you want me to waste about 10 minutes of my time I can quote about a dozen people here who could not find any Blu-ray versions in their Target stores... Does that mean they didn't carry it?... Also someone here mentioned he only found DVD cases in his TRU and by chance happen to find them on the counter where the video games are...

Also I noticed several members here who accidentally bough the movies in DVD cases and did not even notice until the got home... That also adds to the amount of BD's being absent from shelves because there's probably some DVD owners sitting at home wondering why their cases are smaller and blue compared to the rest of their DVD collection...

Let's face it: Almost ALL the stores ordered more DVD cases than BD cases--TRU, Target, Walmart, etc.--because the DVD cases are targeted at the larger DVD audience. And with BD owners being more interested on day one, they bought out the BD cases early; in particular, many TRUs (including mine) held back their BD cases for those who preordered. So not only did those of us who preordered get the best deal (I didn't get the $5 glitch, but that's OK); we also got the best shot at real BD cases.
