Not unless they were selling a product that wasn't legal for them to. When you factor in court costs and such your wasting your time. That is assuming you could even get money out of them. Plus you need to have the police figure out who they were and I really doubt that is ever going to happen from what you described.

Only thing I can say to the "OP" is just use then, play them and enjoy them since you will never get what you paid for them. Also you said you're a novice. That way just tweek these and go with the flow.

Trust me, they suck for $350 or whatever you paid for them, but are going to be average speakers (like PC ones

) or maybe little worse

About 12 years ago I did the same (I admit it) and lucky I got the wanna be JBL 12" 3-ways (2-speakers) and paid like $200 in a local parking-lot. I used the hell out of them and bang them up pretty bad. couple years of use they ended up in the garage for BBQ GTG's or Pool parties. About 7 years ago I sold them for $50, they newspaper boy heard them banging in the garage and complement on them and offered to buy them. I said $50 and they are your's!! They are now gone in the wind.

Nah, it's gotten old after 31 years! The fun is quietly watching other people fall for stuff. Honestly, I haven't been "targeted" for a while.

I bought white van speakers once... Same story, worth 2 grand heres the specs, they got extra from the supplier and they wanted $300 for the pair, I was at the gas station and just finished filling up, told them I only had $50 take it or leave it, speakers were mine. Things were beasts, and were loud as hell. I used them for 4 years and they were great speakers for parties indoors and outdoors. I turned around and sold them for $75 to the local cash converters after getting my use out of them...

Is anyone else reminded of the people who call the police when they were trying to buy $20 worth of marijuana and were only sold oregano, and want to report their drug dealer to the cops?

Im a service tech who travels thoughout the new england area and see that white van scam all the time.Its always the same storey.2 systems were loaded into my truck i only need one..The sad thing is that people buy it all the time. hope u didnt spend to much $$$
