i dont have an all-region player either...from what i could tell it is region free...

so far every ones i have ordered havent said there is a region lock on it and they have all been ok (butterfly effect being the exception on my ps3 but worked on a different player)

$10.36 for duty @6% (should have been 7%)
$9.15 for GST
$5.00 Handling fee
$
total $197.18 for 20 discs or averaging $9.86 each without shipping, with shipping of $29.34 works out to $11.33 each

Amazon Canada prices
14 blu-rays $352.99 or $25.21 each free shipping plus GST 5% $26.47 each
6 blu-rays not available in Canada, if assuming the same average price would work out to $529.49 so in theory I saved $302.97

Or enough for another 30 blus from Amazon UK

Just goes to show how ****ing ridiculous prices are for blu-rays in Canada. This is utter bullshit. I mean how the hell does it cost me significantly less to import a boxset of blus from the UK compared to picking it up from a local retail store. This is madness!

I don't think you can assume that.

You don't know what titles he had bought for those prices. There are lots of cheap $5.00 BDs available here, but none of them that I want.

I'm not assuming that. I know that. When it comes to blu-ray boxsets (ie. trilogies, bundles, etc.) the pricing differences are extraordinary. The Spider-man trilogy costs $77-80 CAD at FS, BB and amz.ca. I imported it from amz.uk and got charged $28.xx CAD on my credit card. Likewise for the Bourne trilogy. Most (if not all) of the cheap $5 BDs are those alliance releases that the stores are getting rid of in anticipation for the proper releases (ie. Illusionist comes out in the US in June and Se7en just got announced).

i actually picked up the spider-man trilogy when i first got into blus (before i heard about this place) in Gatineau for 24.99 (at the french jumbo...for some reason i cant think of the name right now)

some good news...and some bad news...

The good news:
i received my blurays and dvds today via ups....
i didnt end up having to pay any duties
beowulf & grendel and paycheck are both region free

The bad news:
Silent Hill, Shaolin Soccer, Time Bandits, and Dugeons & Dragons Wrath of the dragon god are all Region B even though the site did not say so....

not a huge deal that those blurays arent region free...i'll just wait until i can get a region free bluray player...the biggest issue is not being able to watch them anytime soon

thanks i'll try it later...worst casoe scenario i can see a region free blu ray player for 200.00 on ebay....not "much" more than a regular blu ray player in terms of cost
