Was thinking about returning mine to Tesco entertainment, but when i phoned them yesterday they weren't aware of any problems with the disc so i would proberly just get and old copy back in return.

I orignally emailed Tesco Entertainment a few days ago, to see where I stood with them. They were pretty much the same with me. Just fobbed me off with saying if the disc is faulty, then just return it - totally clueless about the recall in effect.

So it appears my only option is to email technicolor, or who ever about a replacement disc. I feel rather reluctant currently whilst no one around here seems to have had a response out of them.

I kept my slip cover the barcode on my fixed one just had new numbers not yellow. but audio is spot on

I also kept my slipcover. It's a little weird that the new sets dont have one

Who ever sends there copy back remember to keep your slipcover.

Seems wrong to have a cover with a different barcode to the slipcover. Somehow incomplete.

Seems that way weird i said to the man in HMV where is the new slip cover he said no slip cover, so i grabbed my old slip before he put it behind the counter.

I've just had a reply off Technicolor, basically saying they're sorry. They've given me a Unique Reference Number and will be apparently sending out the freepost envelope over the next few days. I imagine you all must be getting e-mails around now.

Yes i had the email and phone call from them, but the turn around for me was to long i just took it back to the shops and exchanged it.

I had a response from Technicolor today:

Dear Sir, Madam,

Thank you for your claim regarding the faulty Saving Private Ryan BluRay.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused to you as a result of this matter.

In order to process your claim, we need you to always quote the Unique Reference Number (URN), shown above in all your correspondence with us. Please include the URN SPR(#####) in the subject field of all your e-mails.

In order to receive a free replacement Blu Ray product, we must receive your original product. You have already supplied into us all the necessary information for your claim. We will be sending you a FREEPOST envelope within the next few days.

Upon receipt of your product, we will ship out a replacement product back into you.

Thank you in advance for your co-operation.

Either take it back to shop or send your faulty disc in the pre paid envelope from technicolor.

I'd email technicolor, as your in the same boat as i am with Tesco.

All i did was give my full address and told them it was the UK version and i bought it from Tescoentertainment.com

I left a message with the technicolour line and never got a response.

Managed to find the receipt from HMV though so got it swapped there. I got the slipcover back too - I don't really care for slipcovers, but it's always handy to have in case you ever want to sell the disc.

I was obviously widespread as they have recalled all of them. I guess there must be seem decent copies.
