I watched it too. I have had nightmares over the years of being buried alive, Its a good well made movie good acting on Ryan's part but I agree with others very little replay value.

>>douchiness. (don't know if that's really a word )

>>If it is a word he made it one.

I've never thought he was as bad as Bradley Cooper (in terms of douchiness)

Most overrated movie of some time.

Ridiculous implausibilities and plot holes (and I usually NEVER harp on those things), a decent attempt by Ryan Reynolds but you still know you're watching Ryan Reynolds when he gets "excited." He just doesn't have this range.

Also, and I can't stress this enough. If there were ever a movie to rent once and be done with it, it's this one. I couldn't imagine ever having a need to watch this again.

It's not a bad movie, but it's not a good one. And there's ZERO rewatchability.

It's the perfect movie for reviewers to gush over because it's the trendy thing to do this season, but trust me, don't buy it.

You sure? Nine out of ten posts in here all say the same thing: "it's a great movie, but definitely NOT for repeat viewings". "Definitely a rental"

So, I still dont understand why peeps bling buy anything.

"I have no idea what this band sounds like. Let me buy the entire album and hope I like it"

Really? Is that what you do?

I rarely blind buy, but I do it from time to time.
Last being Social Network. It's not that crazy of an idea. My favorite blu-ray from the past year was a blind buy: Scott Pilgrim.

And your "buy an entire album" theory may have holes in it too.
Any particular band can be like a movie...maybe my favorite guitar player, etc... is playing on the CD (certain actors). Maybe one of my favorite producers worked on it and I trust his work from the past (directors).
I do buy certain music based on things like this actually...

A band is a band. A style is a style. Eddie Van Halen plays like Eddie Van Halen no matter what band he's in. It's Eddie being Eddie. He's not pretending. So in one aspect you are right.

Movies are not bands. Movies contain actors. Actors play MAKE BELIEVE. It's not them being themselves. It's different each time. That means different characters being written by different writers being directed by different directors.

The outcome is nothing like if a certain guitar player is on an album.

I don't think you can really compare a movie you've at least seen the trailer to, to buying an album by a band you've never heard of or their music.

Like, I want to see this. More than anything. But my local video stores wont carry it (I have a decent relationship with them). And I aint going to go to Blockbuster. The only thing I think about when I see a Blockbuster building is that it would make for a nice fire one day.

So, do I blind buy it? No! What if I hate it? I did that in the DVD days because it was "exciting to build a collection". But after a while, you start to look at your collection and say to yourself, "Jesus Christ. Why do I have this movie? Why did I buy that DVD?"

I promised not to do that with Bluray. Blind Buying is equal to "being overly excited and not making a rational decision"

"OMG. OMG Something new on the format I love. I have to buy it"

Don't blind buy it then. Even if you do end up liking it, will you watch it a lot? Probably not.

Do you have any of those Blockbuster express (or whatever they're called) around you, or a Redbox?
I don't even know if they carry Blu-rays but you could always try that

Yes, I have a few Redbox's around in grocery stores. Good idea. I can try that... I never have yet. Or, I can On-Demand it or something.

Because some people collect and like seeing a movie for the first time in their home on their audio/video system. Anyone with half a brain usually knows when it's a safe blind buy. Try living once, get crazy, do something insane! Buy a movie you've never seen before. I have nearly 500 blurays and have blind bought half of of them. No regrets at all. A new movie isn't new to me until it's release day. According to you, people shouldn't spend all that money to go to the movie theater. That would be crazy! How could they do such a thing? They should watch a bootleg first and then go pay the high prices for a movie ticket. Really, is that what you do?

Yup. Movies are made for the theater first and foremost. No matter what set-up you have, what room you have, what couches/chairs you own...etc No home experience is ever like the theater experience.

And, "experience" is the key word. Going to the theater is the same a trying a restaurant. It's worth it. If you dont like it you dont go back. The food doesnt take up space in your house like a few of the blind-buy discs you most likely will never watch again. If you have 500 discs, there are definitely some you will never watch again.

Remember, I already wrote it once: Blind Buying is equal to "being overly excited and not making a rational decision" - it's not a bad thing, it just is what it is.

I rented this on DVD (yeah i know but its all they had in stock ) and for some reason it has some really old trailers on it. Not sure if the Blu does also but the DVD has one for Bug, American Haunting, and Open Water. I have never seen a brand new movie have such old trailers before.

Did you by chance get the wrong "Buried"? There's "Dead and Buried"

I dont thibnk I can recommend this blu ray as a buy to anyone.

As a movie, it had great potential which wasnt realized to the fullest. It could have been executed better.

Besides, it has zero replay value.
