Huh, looks like Japan is taking over for the SB blus Would LOVE for a blu-ray of Boxer From Shantung. Of course, Dragon Dynasty has US rights, but they haven't even bothered with a DVD release... and besides, their only good SB blu-ray was Five Deadly Venoms.

Too bad these won't have English subs... wonder if they'd have the dubs though?

EDIT: Nope, the Japanese Paramount site shows Cantonese/Mandarin in most cases, with some also having Japanese dubs.

Don't know why it's like pulling teeth to get Shaw Brothers blu-rays out... I mean, Fortune Star keeps churning out their upscaled "HD" masters of the Golden Harvest films to various companies, but at least Celestial had the decency to have the SB films IN TRUE HD!!!

Although those Well Go blus were a pinch annoying... no more PAL-to-NTSC 1080i crap people! At least they had more detail than the PAL-to-NTSC 1080i 36th Chamber of Shaolin from Dragon Dynasty, but I digress...

No English subs I bet; the others have not had any! But, it would be nice if they were. I would settle for an English dub. But, can`t wait for Super Inframan. The cover art on that is BEautiful! Can`t afford to replace my whole Shaws collection at this point in time; especially when there is no English sub or not knowing if in the future these will be released in HK(which always has English subs).

I do find it ironic though that there is English text on these Japanese releases but no English subs. I just can`t believe that in this day and age that the English sub would not be included because that would then open their product up to the non Japanese speaking market. Not sure if they legally can`t due to contract or some other agreement they have.

Weatern people don' t know Japan much, it is normal that JP version BD don' t have English subtitle.
They don' t want to open non-Japanese speaking market at all, they produce the media for local use only! They do same things to the electronic consumer market, too.
The JP version of camera, AV and HiFi always have better/top spec. than export version.

The Korean do opposite thing to their media market, almost all the KR local BD have English subtitle.

Apparently these German / Austrian Blu ray releases are going to get non-digibook standard releases later, so more affordable for those that don't want fancy special editions. The good thing is these have English subtitles and English dubs included but are locked to region B.

It is interesting that the Japanese companies would not want to expand their market. And, since I can neither read nor speak Japanese, it makes it hard to order from any of these sites unless there is English translation.

I will still buy Super Inframan since that is a favorite since my teenage years when I saw it in a local theater. Unless the others are released with Englsih subs then it doesn`t makes sense to me to get them. The German ones do have subs but I have read that it is hard to purchase them outside of Germany.
Maybe someday...

ps - the cover art on some of these blu rays is so much better than some of the artwork that was released for the dvd`s.
