if someone could confirm whether that German one is region free as soon as they know that would be great!

I take it Germany is region B, the same as the UK?

Pre-ordered it, came to about £24 including postage which is a lot more than I would usually spend on a single blu-ray. But I really enjoyed the film, the extras are something I'd actually take the time to watch for once and I was really hoping for a steelbook with that design - so I'm treating myself.

Yes, Germany belongs to Region B.

Scream 4 should be region free. I don't think that Universal ever used a region code on a BR.

Is any other region getting a release from Universal? I hate Steelbooks so I might just wait.

D'oh! I keep forgetting Germany is the same region as the UK, this blu-ray region stuff still gets me at times .

According to areadvd.de the BR will be out on October 20th.
Specifications according to areadvd:

German / English DTS HD, German / English Subs.
STEELBOOK

The BR seems to have more extras than the US BR:

in HD quality:
- alternate opening
- alternate ending
- deleted scenes
- Gag Reel

commentary track:Wes Craven, Hayden Panettiere & Emma Roberts

In SD quality:
- Making Of
- Featurette: Die Scream Story
- Featurette: Scream 4
- Interviews Cast & Crew

Amazon.de link

http://www.amazon.de/Scream-4-Steelb...2972041&sr=8-2

Could this be one of the long running documentaries:
Featurette: Die Scream Story

To bad its not HD. Like i think both the features they get in the box set is
to bad that "Still Screaming" is not on

Its not like EIV to cut out the special features and just have the film on the disc. Every film like Piranha 3D and The Final Destination have all the special features and they came out before America got them, so i think there maybe a chance of gettig the deleted scenes and commentarys on the UK Scream 4 disc. Hopefully...

Further Details:
Entertainment in Video has announced the DVD and Blu-ray release of Scream 4 for the 8th of August, priced at around £19.99 and £24.99 respectively. A list of possible bonus material can be found below, but please be aware that this is not finalised. Artwork is forthcoming.

well the website says there are special features on the disc but reviewers say there are none and i think i saw a post that said they talked to someone from EIV and they confirmed NO special features!!! WTF? the uk is the only country that Scream 4 went to number 1 (i could be wrong) and this is the way we are treated, i was really looking forward to the deleted scenes, they cut a lot of scenes from this movie, but it looks like i'll have to import, i've canceled my pre-order until i have confirmation of bonus features, RIPOFF

That was before the reviews came in. And even there it says possible bonus material.

The worst thing is there charging £14.99 for a barebones release when it really only should be about £11.99. Like the new film "Super" with Ellen Page is only £9.00 and that is a new release with special features.

Hardly any though. But you're right, £14.99 for this is ridiculous. If it was a triple play or something I'd be less annoyed/shocked at it but no.

Barebones and on it's own it should be about £10!

I'm not cancelling my order, just because there's no extras. I want the film.

Seems weird to me. It sucks, completely, that there's no reported extras (thought to me that sounds off anyways) but did people buy this, just for the extras?

I bought the Swedish statue version too, so I hope that version has lots of extras.

No but I do like extras, I did like this film a lot though and I would have got it but the fact that there are other region B blu-rays out there that have extras on them just means that I'd be better off getting one of those .

EIV's website confirms 2:39:1 but the site also says the disc has special features
