He was supposedly sharing child porn with Reubens but it's even worse than that. As if that's not disgusting enough. In 2003, he was arrested for soliciting a 14-year-old boy to pose for sexually explicit photos and possession of child pornography. He entered a no-contest plea and somehow got off on probation. He was arrested in 2004 and 2010 for failing to update his sex offender registration. I can't imagine a Hollywood studio hiring this guy and I hope they don't. The only thing he's done since then is voice work, an unfinished TV movie, and some low budget garbage called "Who's Your Caddy?".

In some ways I'm actually glad it's a commercial. Based on the teaser I'm looking forward to it, and it can be fun and goofy because it is just a commercial.

While a part of me would be interested in a movie sequel, I think the notion of a sequel seems far better than what the likely end result would be. Would we really want to see a 40-something Ferris running around doing antics similar to that of the original movie? I really couldn't see it working that well to be honest.

In theory though, it's probably just something for a Superbowl Ad. But, there is a script out there for a sequel, so maybe if this goes over well, we'll see a sequel.

Most likely. BUT, they know the character is still popular. This could mean that it leads to something later. We know a sequel script exists, and it's pretty good too. And obviously Broderick is game to play him again. We can hope this leads to something.

People seem to be thinking that it is just going to be a Superbowl commercial for some company looking to capitalize on the middle aged generation who know the film.

I'm a hopeless optimist though and believe that something more of a substantial trailer will hit the market regarding an official announcement about the sequel on the day listed at the end of that clip.

I hate to be the one to continue bursting bubbles, but the date being the same day as the Super Bowl makes it seem that a Super Bowl ad is much more likely. I doubt it's just a coincidence.
