I bought the DVD years ago. The movie as ok, nothing great but not bad either. Is it worth the upgrade in this case or should I just sick with Ratatouille and my other Pixar films?

I bought it during one of Amazon.com's blu-ray sales. I think I paid about 14.99 for it?
But i haven't ever opened it yet.

It was one of the first impressive encodes back in the early (dark) days of ubiquitous SL mpeg2 disks. Whether it benefitted from an easier-to-compress image, end to end digital file, or just a talented compressionist I don't know, but it looks quite good.

I upgraded ours, and it is a noticeable difference. It's not a pixar film though, but the kids don't seem to care - they like it.

It's worth it, I think. Especially if you have (or intend to have) kids.

I think the PQ should put Shrek and Ice age to shame.
It's pleasant for adults too, as the themes are adult ones : respect for the elderly, survival of the fittest ; but can of course be good to teach young ones. First time I saw it at the cinema, I thought the scenery had been fimed as it looked very vivid, but seeing on Blu-ray everythin was CG ... omg
One of my fav Blu-rays.

Yep, the picture quality on this one is pretty stellar. I'm surprised that more people don't own this one, as it shines in Blu-ray, and is a definite upgrade from the SD-DVD. Plus, I really enjoyed the movie itself as well.

Two thumbs up here, and I would definitely recommend it to those out there that don't own this one.

Smile Disney's Dinosaur is simply amazing

Dinosaur in Blu-ray is just amazing. I can't believe some people say it's old and prefer some bullcrap like Shrek or Ice age.
The image is the best, the characters are lively and moving, I hope many will have the chance to see it.

Ive held off on dinosaur because people have said it doesnt look all that great on Blu. Id like to hear more opinions on it, because it was a good movie, and if its worth upgrading for $15 ill do it.

Somehow, I always thought that Dinosaur was a grown up version of The Land Before Time. I don't know why even after a few years, I feel like very few people remember it. I haven't seen the movie though, I hope when I see it, that it's good.

The ones I really can't wait for on Blu are both Monsters, Inc. and The Incredibles!

I remember when they showed the dialogue-free opening as a trailer-featurette before Toy Story 2, and we all thought it was one of the most amazing-looking films for Disney at that time...

...And then the ads came out, and we found out the characters talked.
No, make that "Talked lame 90's Disney dialogue". Oh, and that that lemur who finds the egg at the end of the teaser was actually the Wisecracking Comedy-Relief Buddy.
A little something in all of us died that day.

(And still, because it got all the attention at the time, Disney promos CONTINUE to mock our disillusionment with "Looks like you need a little help from the Loooove Monkey...")
