It would be great if they kept the artwork on the disc the same as the Special Edition DVD. No titles or anything, just the Giant flying down to Earth.

My 2 year old daughter, just recently, fell in love with The Iron Giant. It is, in my opinion, the greatest animated feature ever produced. This needs to hit the streets NOW! It's long overdue.

I was JUST gonna buy this on DVD. Then I decided to do a last minute research with the closest apple store and found this. I hope this doesn't come too late in the year! So glad it's finally coming on blu-ray!

Thought we have an announcement or something. Brad Bird's best work to date, now a classic.

It's my least favourite of Brad Bird's three animated films, and it's still one of my favourite animated films ever, which really speaks volumes about Bird's talent. I need this on blu-ray yesterday!

It's one of my favourite animated movies, and to my mind is Bird's BEST movie to date.

Still my favorite thing Brad Bird has ever done, and it remains my favorite animated feature that I've ever seen (followed by Spirited Away).

When I first made the jump to Blu-ray, I was so upset there was no news about The Iron Giant. I was extremely pleased when I saw this tidbit of news. Make it happen, WB!

Default Why the wait?

I hope they rope in Brad to ensure the hd transfer stays loyal to the look n feel of the original release.

I too can't wait for this release. It remains one of the best animation films I've ever seen and, along with TITAN AE, is also one of the most underrated.

Can't wait! Hurry up WB!!

So instead of an imminent release I'm thinking it could be almost a year or heaven forbid - 2013?

Don't forget either this featured Jennifer Aniston who at the time was mainly a sit com actress just starting to move into movies.
Well sadly my sense was correct and there's been no progress update on an Iron Giant blu-ray release. Maybe we'll hear or see something in 2013?

Can't wait for this one either. There needs to be a sequel, perhaps involving traveling back to the IG's home world.

They only thing better than a Blu Ray release would be if it was offered inside a steelbook.
