Selective would be an understatement. On second thought I was wrong. He has the Fantastic Four films in his collection, but doesn't like Apollo 13, Willow, Frost/Nixon, or Cinderella Man. I see the issue now.

some people really like ron howard movies. I never really liked them that much. parenthood was my favorite film of his. I liked braveheart over apollo 13. I didnt really care much for willow. cinderella man was really boring and I never saw front/nixon.

I really like this movie. I just saw it again probably a year or two ago and I'm already getting four other Blu-rays, so I probably won't get it next week, but I will at some point (even if Universal DNR'd it).

Braveheart was not directed by Ron Howard. Mel Gibson directed it. You're missing out with Frost/Nixon.

I know that.. my point was that they were both nominated for best picture. I liked braveheart better. I heard the frost/nixon movie was good. I never got around to watching it.

this is really not the conversation.. my taste in ron howard movies. it should be about the movie parenthood.
I happen to like some comic book movies. no big deal.

I know I'm not the only one that got it for 7.99 during the Upgrade and Save promotion.

Parenthood is one of the my favorites so a definite buy opening week.
they REALLY need to do something about that. Its so stupid and they are easily losing sales over it from shoppers that tend to buy in store like myself. I wanna say not one copy of The Three Amigos has budged from my local Best Buy and I'm pretty damn sure its because of that price tag on the case.

Silly me for not researching this online but sonuvab****! I could have been owning/watching this movie a long time ago.

Question No reviews!?!?!?!?

Why are there no reviews up for this wonderful film???

My copy has already shipped, and I strongly hope it's not the usual Universal disaster! By far the worst studio when it comes to BD releases!

I hope they kept the original look of it, and didn't DNR it to death.

Such a great movie, and I would never have guessed that it's a Ron Howard film.

Picked up my copy of 'Parenthood' at Best Buy today for $8.99 after the $3 Universal 100th Coupon. I haven't watched it yet but to get the Blu-ray, the DVD and the (iTunes-compatible) digital copy all for just $8.99 is the deal of the week as far as I am concerned!

We'll probably watch this tonight!

I sampled about 30 minutes of it tonight. It's a solid transfer. It won't win any awards as this is a 23 year-old, modestly-budgeted movie, but I saw plenty of grain and didn't detect any DNR job by Universal. Like I said, I only watched a half hour and I didn't have time to pop in the DVD copy that came with it to see how much of an upgrade it was, but if you're a fan this is an easy recommend based on the low price.

Nope, me too. I have waited and waited for a decent version of The Paper to come out. Great ensemble cast, weak-ish ending (hospital, babies, too many godamned smiling parents), but very very well done. When Howard has a good script, he can excel. Problem is he doesn't often bother to get them. I'd like to see the long version of Missing on BR too, though again, bit of a problematic ending. I noticed too that Ransom, which also never got a good anamorphic version, will soon be out on BR.

You're lucky to find it on shelves. Most of the Best Buys in my area rarely have catalogs out on time, even though they have them in stock. Best Buy seems to be the only place to have this title in stores, but the one I was in yesterday didn't have it out. Hopefully they'll get around to getting it out this weekend.

You didn't get any reviews because they weren't sent out. I never got a review copy.

Thanks, that's comforting to know. I m happy to hear that it's not DNR'd to death like "Three Amigos", which looks god-awful!

Can't wait to watch this insanely witty and smart movie again!

Default Parenthood Blu with Blues Brothers Digital Copy

Has anyone else tried and had problems with the DC code for Parenthood? iTunes took it and it is now downloading Blues Brothers to my machine. I can't say I'm disappointed. It's just odd.

Looking at the insert it even says I should go to http://www.universalhidef.com/digita...3-622f7bfb4293 to begin the redeeming process.

I took a chance and did in-store pickup on Bestbuy.com. Just received my "your order is ready" email. Glad they found it today.

No DNR tampering can only be a good thing. The review, and another poster give me hope, that they didn't mess this up.

I love the movie, so I can't wait to finally see for myself.

Well, the video as expected, looks a real let-down. It looks like an old HDTV rip. No grain, oversharpened, ugly.
