Apparently this is getting a release in Spain.

There isn't a listing on Amazon.es yet though.

Oh wow! Finally!!! When is it coming out?? I have a region free Blu-ray player so regions are not a problem for me.

Edit: I found out it's coming July 14th from Resen. The fact that you can't pre-order it is puzzling. Don't know what's going on here.

USA Director's Cut came out last month on Amazon.es. (Amazon Spain)

I just received my package. Let me assure you it is indeed the director's cut and also it's labeled Region B but like the majority it works here in the usa just fine. Took about 10 days to get here which is fast compared to Amazon.de.

Is it worth an import? How does it look?

Registered for an account after seeing this. If possible, I would love to hear more about the scenes featured on this cut or some screenshots. Does it have the original death of Elvira (as shown briefly in the film's trailer), and/or the original planned ending?
[Show spoiler](Per Wikipedia: after Samantha gets shot by the police, Paul dreams she's in his room saying goodbye to him).
Thanks!

I decided to give spanish release a try, bootleg or not but at least it wasn't too pricey. I assume the term director's cut means in this case the uncut version with MPAA cuts reinstated?

I think there’s some confusion (maybe on my part), Wes Craven’s original cut was more of a PG film. He didn’t want to do another horror film but because of his name the studio forced him to add the gore (even the basketball death wasn’t in his original cut). I know after all that stuff was added though they still had to then cut stuff cause the MPAA hated Craven.

But I’m almost positive there’s only been one release of this film with no other cut seeing the light of day.

There IS another version. On VHS. It even has some alternate footage and is slightly cut in other places for the r-rating.
See moviecensorship.com
Cheers

Is it the original, PG, dark sci-fi/romance cut, or is it the stupid, bloody, basketball cut? Because I just watched that basketball scene on YouTube for the first time and I swear I lost brain cells.

Guys, I have that Spanish Blu-ray version and it looks similar to the DVD. Basically it was a waste of money. Don't buy.

People hoping for the original cut shout said they couldn’t find the footage so the horror cut is what were stuck with.
