i don't go to the cinema anymore, the time between the cinema and blu-ray is getting shorter and shorter anyways.

I was able to see this this morning and I absolutely loved it. I'll definitely be getting it once it's released

Usually when I really enjoy a movie and someone else doesn't, I'm too quick to be like "what do you mean you didn't like it?!?"

But with Anderson, I get it - he's not for everyone.

I own and love all of Wes Anderson's films. I saw "Moonrise Kingdom" last week and loved it as well. Day one purchase for me. My only issue with this film and "The Royal Tenenbaums" was the death of the dogs. Being a huge lover of animals, I don't see the need, especially in "Moonrise Kingdom" where it added nothing to the plot. "In "The Royal Tenenbaums", the death of the dog causes Royal to replace the boys pet thus getting closer to Chas. I feel that saving the boys was enough. The beautiful beagle did not need to die. Just my two cents.

Saw this twice in theatres and definitely picking it up first day. Wes Anderson can do no wrong.

If it wasn't your cup of tea, then why are you still buying it, let alone day one?

I'm not much of a Wes Anderson fan, but I did enjoy this one. It's a plus that I knew his style and knew what to expect. I saw this movie with four other people who've never heard of Wes Anderson and the movie completely went over their heads.

Thank you for that article. It would have benefitted from a quote or two from Mr. Anderson, but well thought out nonetheless. I have no issue watching the dramas that human beings face, but I hate to see dogs injured in any way. Hell, I used to be a season ticket holder for the Washington Redskins, but now I wouldn't watch any NFL game at gunpoint since they allow dog butcherers play. I wouldn't pay to watch Michael Vick mow my lawn.

You know this is... A film, right? All fiction...

If no one has seen it yet and it's playing in your area, check it out. For me the best film of 2012 so far.

But it did give use this moment:

"Was he a good dog?"
"Who's to say?"

Default Criterion Release?

I really think this could be released on Criterion. Wes has a great relationship with them (all of his movies except Fantastic Mr. Fox). I think that the lack of release for FMF is affected by the fact that it's animated, and Criterion doesn't really do animated films, at least usually.

Moonrise Kingdom has a very unique style and it's considered one of Wes' best, so if they've released Life Aquatic, I think they should definitely release MK.

considering the Focus Film/Universal home video release is coming out in the Fall - I don't see Criterion having the chance for quite some time.
