Yeah, but all the features are ported from prior DVD releases. The expense and risk of releasing a 3D catalog title is far higher, hence the higher MSRP.

I agree. As much as I would love to see Dial M for Murder in 3D, I doubt I will ever own a 3D Blu-ray player and TV to watch it on. So I'd rather buy a BD only release and save some money.

Nice to see these coming finally. Strangers on the Train was the first DVD I purchased. I prefer its cover. These covers are just as bad as the recently released Rebecca, Notorious and Spellbound. I'd love to know what exec gave these the OK. Oh well minor issue overall.

Releasing DIAL M FOR MURDER to Blu-ray in its original 3-D, with a rumored upcoming 3-D Blu-ray of HOUSE OF WAX, is the first step in convincing me and likely numerous other collectors that a 3-D TV or even 3-D projector might be worth the upgrade. As soon as those two titles are joined by original 3-D editions of HONDO, CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, REVENGE OF THE CREATURE, IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE, KISS ME KATE, MISS SADIE THOMPSON, and maybe a few others, it will be time.
I sure wouldn't buy a 3-D TV just to watch HUGO and a few digital cartoons or even TITANIC, fun as they are in 3-D, but with a decent selection of classic 3-D on Blu-ray I'd be far more likely to upgrade to 3-D and might even decide to get some of the recent 3-D productions in their 3-D editions. (Might even break down and get AVATAR, which is only worth watching for its 3-D.) |
