Has anyone heard anything about this? Apparently, TV Line.com did a write-up on this new series that is debuting from ABC this fall.
Cast: Andre Braugher (Homicide), Scott Speedman (Felicity), Robert Patrick (The Unit), Daisy Betts (Person of Interest), Autumn Reeser (No Ordinary Family), Dichen Lachman (Dollhouse) The Setup: Created by Shawn Ryan (The Shield, The Unit) and Karl Gajdusek, Last Resort stars Braugher as Marcus Chaplin, the captain of a submarine that, after offering a ride to a team of tight-lipped Navy SEALs, receives orders to launch missiles at Pakistan. Given the directive’s sketchy origin, Chaplin elects to ignore it, at which point the USS Colorado becomes the hunted. Chaplin charts a course for safe-ish harbor until he and his crew can glean what has gone wrong in the rest of the world. Speedman plays Chaplin’s XO, Patrick the book-abiding Chief of the Boat and Betts a lieutenant trying to lose her label as “an Admiral’s daughter” and gain respect. On the dry land side of things, Reeser plays a military tech honcho who suspects the Colorado has been targeted by its own country. Source: http://tvline.com/2012/06/28/fall-tv...st-resort-abc/ Sounds interesting and it's nice to see Robert Patrick back in action as a military officer. |

Here is the official Trailer.
It's stating in 1 month, and I have to admit that as far fetched (to put it mildly) as it sounds, I've always been a sucker for good Submarine Drama (cf Crimson Tide). P.S: Ah, so that's why Scott Speedman had to turn down Underworld 4. Makes a lot more sense now, because if the show is successful, it's bread on the table for many years ![]() Last edited by Elandyll; 08-21-2012 at 03:01 PM. |

![]() My wife and I like this show. There are some characters that are forced (most specifically, the woman who owns the pegasus technology), but the show is certainly enjoyed so far. |

Yeah! I like the show as well. I had high hopes for Revolution but it just hasn't lived up to its potential. But, The Last Resort (odd name for this TV series) is shaping up to a very good show. I just hope that ABC doesn't up and cancel it after two or three episodes.

I just expected much more from revolution because of the ads for the new series made it sound interesting. After the pilot episode, at least for me, the episodes just seemed to lose that "interest" factor. I've enjoyed a lot of TV shows and I expect a new series to keep me engaged in the characters and the story. While the premise of the story was an interesting one, it simply has failed to live up to expectations.
I don't know, the characters on the show seem to always be whining or complaining about something and that without the Miles character, this series would be doomed. But, while the second and third episode of Last Resort have been somewhat weak, it has enough to keep me coming back because of the "conspiracy theory" regarding the orders that the crew received that ended up with that attack on Pakistan. I think "The Unit" suffered some similar problems during the first season but Shawn Ryan managed to pull the series through for four seasons. I'm hoping that the next few episodes will kick things up a notch. |
