I always like to watch a film in the original language that it was filmed with the actors' own voices.
The movie was French/Italian. The director, Duccio Tessari, was Italian. Ottavia Piccolo and most of the actors were Italian, indeed.

Just my guess, Delon French, everyone else Italian. We Italians had a very poor English knowledge in the seventies.

Stanley Baker was English, and on the English audio track of my French DVD, his voice is used. Also I think Delon is speaking in English, but his voice was dubbed over, don't know why his English isn't bad at all. I know Delon speaks Italian fluently so his voice was possible used on the Italian track.

No, I'm 100% sure it wasn't him. The accent and the spoken Italian sounded perfect.

That's unusual, because at one time he insisted on doing the English dubbing for his films himself.

So will the US Edition of this film be the way to go? Or should I wait for more on the Region B release? Will any release contain Delon's voice?

How is it possible that it's his voice in Italian track?
Unless they shot the scenes twice, one time with him speaking in English, and one speaking in Italian.
because you can see clearly that he is speaking English (although not sure if it's his voice or not) (after 5.00'')

I guess you mean, that in Italian track, he's seen speaking English, but he dubbed himself in Italian.

Delon speaks Italian - not too surprising considering how many Italian films he's made - but apparently with a very heavy French accent. Since Italian films were usually shot mute with the dialogue added in post-production he seems to have been dubbed in his Italian fims. He's certainly dubbed in films like The Leopard (by Carlo Sabatini), L'Eclisse (by Gabriele Antonini) and Rocco and His Brothers (by Achille Millo).

Some of Delon's films were shot twice - The Sicilian Clan was shot both in English and French, which wasn't entirely uncommon for French-US co-productions (Optimum's UK DVD of Rider on the Rain, for example, includes both the English language and slightly longer French versions).

Guys, check some scenes from the Italian version of "ZORRO" on YouTube and let me know. I'm almost sure he has been dubbed.

from what i can tell, the movie was shot in english, and then was dubbed.
But the only version where you can ear Delon's voice, in on the french version.
On the Italian and english version, it's not his voice.

oh, and i just found the first review for this bluray, but it's in spanish:
http://www.culturalmenteincorrecto.c...ay-review.html

not a word, on the region for this disc..(hope i's region free )
and they only mention the english track..
i hope there is at least the french track, because it would be weird not to have the only track with Delon's voice...

it's strange, my last post has not been posted ....

Anyway, the bu-ray is avaible..
who will be the first to receive one?

I saw a review a few days ago, it was in spanish, but there was no informtation on the region, or language or subtitles..

Like i was saying in the post which didn't appeared on the board, it's clear that the movie was shot in english, but Delon's voice was dubbed in the english version, and on the italian version.
The only version where you can hear Delon's real voice is on the french version, where he dubbed himself.

So i really hope the french version is on this blu-ray, because it woud be a shame , to finally have a definite edition of this movie, complete, in the right ratio, remastered in hd, and not to have the only version with Delon voice.

Please, i need to know if this disc will work on a region B player, and what are the languages avaible, before i order.
Thanks in advance to the first person to have his hand on this disc, if you can share these informations

My copy arrived today. First time I've had a chance to see this version, but all the talk about it made me pick it up, since I love Zorro and wanted to add it to my collection.

You're lucky. Watching this movie for the very first time is a terrific ride.

It's definitely only in English, and I couldn't find the region coding on the box or disc... I'm going to guess it's region Free if it doesn't say anything specific. But that's just a guess. Not a fact.

It really was. Very well made movie, with excellent sword fighting scenes, as many of you had said. Glad the first time I got to see this, it was the full, uncut version and not the original 90 minute USA cut. Such a fun movie.

I'm glad you enjoyed it and yes the butchered version was a CRIME.
