I just got The Walking Dead: Season 2 at my local Pawn Shop. $5.00! I was floored.

I've never been to a disc replay but we have cd warehouse in my area. There are three of them and one of them is my favorite store I've found hunting blu-rays. They have a ton of blu rays for 6 and less then they have awesome box sets and tv shows for amazon prices. I got the Christopher Nolan set there for 30 and they have the Starwars compete saga for 69 dollars. But they have decent stuff for six and under.

I got the shawshank digibook for 13 there also. A little worn but it was my first digibook so I was excited.

I bought UP 4 disc edition for $8 bucks. It was in great condition with minty slip but the digital copy disc was missing. Also The Incredible Hulk green case and slip.

Ford City mall? Disc Replays are little more south west of the city, the Crest Hill/Joliet one has ALOT of vinyl records and collectibles if you're into that kind of stuff.

I've been a rabid pawn shop hunter for years now. you would not BELIEVE some of the deals I've gotten. think I've bought over 800 blu-rays from pawn shops over the last 4 years. I can find just about ANYTHING there if I look often enough.

I've been meaning to do a more thorough search of my local pawn shops, but the few I have been to are out of their minds. $10 for used BDs is too much to me. Maybe when they first came out and were priced a little higher, but now you can buy some titles brand new for less than that. There's also a used book store that sells used BDs and DVDs and their prices are about the same, or higher. I just saw a used copy of the Halo Legends Steelbook there for $36!!!

The pawn shops in my area suck when it comes to blu-ray prices. They have consistantly been marked at $10 each or 3 for $25 for the last couple years. I tried to haggle down the price once, but the best deal the manager would offer was $6 each if I bought at least five titles. No thanks.

Most of their stock is crappy leftovers from the Blockbuster sales (in rental cases) that I wouldn't even buy for $1. Needless to say, the same stuff has been sitting on the shelf for quite some time.

800? That's crazy, I'm no where near that but I just started 2 months ago. Got about 150 blus so far and some tv seasons also and 90 percent of it was all from pawn shops.

Kind of spoils me tho. Best buy trade and save and walmart 7.88 don't excite me at all cause I know I could be buying 3-5 dollar blus that are worth lots more. Anyone else feel like that? Plus the hunt and never knowing what u will find gets me going lol.

I'm actually going again tomorrow and taking my fiance cause she wants to look at one of the pawn shops I found that has close to 200 blu rays so ill post what we find on our hunt tomorrow.

Keep it up guys I love hearing about these crazy good finds!

tell me about it. when people go gaga over $5-$7 sales I'm just like "meh" because I'm so used to get ting new releases for those prices not just catalog titles. most sales I'm just looking for those old catalog titles that aren't common enough to come into the pawn shop....

just picked up The Holy grail for $6 at my pawn shop and
last week the Lorax combo pack, The Dictator combo pack and a few other new releases for $5 each.

getting Season 3 and 4 of dexter for $8 each
same with Firefly.... gotta love em

That's so sweet. The one thing I regret not buying is the band of bros tin for 15 its really expensive and I probably could have sold it or kept it. Also I found season 2 and 3 of big bang theory and I have 1 so it would have been a nice pickup both seasons together would have been 15 but they were a little beat and the guy wouldn't go lower on the price. O well.

Also there is a season of sons of anarchy on blu ray where I'm going tomorrow Its like 5 bucks there. Not sure if I want it but I know it's worth more. Thoughts? Should I grab it?

I'd check it out if they have the first few seasons. for $5 the worst case that happens is you don't like it and can resell for 2-3 x the price you paid for them

and yeah, I got lucky and got Band of Brothers tin and the pacific tin on blu for $22 total around the end of last year. great great miniseries.

I would say out of the 500 plus blurays I own around 200 were purchased at Pawn shops in the $5 to $7 dollar range. My latest good hauls:

Captain America $5
The Nightmare Before Christmas $5

Not all pawn shops are created equal as I have a few around me that charge almost retail. Look around to see if you have any close to you. It's sort of an adventure going in each week to see if a title you want shows up. Also, never had a problem with a disc - you can always look them over before purchasing. Could not recommend these places enough.

+1 to that, though I do like grabbing the titles that fall into the $5 range with BB upgrade and save sales

. $5 is such a sweet spot for me and blurays.
