So for everyone who saw this complete webseries do you think it lived up to the BSG 03 series name or it failed like Capria?

Somewhere in the middle. Just didn't blow me away- doubt it would be renewed even if SYFY fully backed it.

[Show spoiler]And what was up w/ the cylons in this? They looked just as advanced as the centurions 40 years later?

For what its worth, I thought they did a good enough job w/ the limited budget for physical sets and green screens. Oh, and did anybody else spot
[Show spoiler]BSG's master at arms (2003) was the commander of that ship in the ghost fleet? That was kind of strange.

Wasnt too bad. Wife walked in while I was watching it and said acting looked like a bad soap opera. lol!

CGI used a lot and more noticeable than in BSG remake. I would watch it and i'm no BSG or scifi freak

Can't wait for the release. Reminds me that I still need to finish off the original BSG series too.

Agreed. I'll watch for this one to hit the $5.99 mark.

They should get Moore to come back and do a feature motion picture trilogy on Adama and the 1st Cylon war. They could ride Abrams's coattails as he churns out the new SW films.

99.9% of the time Universal releases are region free, they only seem to region lock when they don't have exclusive distribution rights but BSG is Universal worldwide so no worries there.

Was wondering if this would arrive with a slip. Thanks for confirming that. Looking forward to watching it, as I haven't watched any of online webisodes.

Was the web-series and/or the TV broadcast cut? It's says the BD is unrated and unseen.

The web series had some censoring but I believe the TV broadcast didn't, the BD features extra footage not seen before kind of like an extended cut.

Now that the Blu-ray has finally been released, simply shocked that a topic hasn't been created for it yet. At any rate, I read the official Blu-ray.com review and I can't believe how much the reviewer was so disappointed in the film that he seems to make all kinds of unfair assumptions about the film.

First, let's start with his characterization of the young Lieutenant Adama. I don't know about you, but I wasn't disappointed in the casting of Luke Pasqualino. The reviewer states that he sounds and acts nothing like the Adama in the SciFi television series. Of course he doesn't, this is Adama when he was younger and I hate to say it, but he's going to develop into the character that was skillfully portrayed by Edward Olmos.

When we're young, we have all kids of rebellious attitudes and characteristics that we eventually grow out of. The simply fact of the matter is, this younger portrayal of Adama will eventually grow out of this "cocky" and "rebellious" nature that we see in Blood & Chrome. The version of Adama we see in the TV series simply hasn't seen the kind of combat and learned the wisdom and patience that comes with the experience of war. If Blood and Chrome had been an actual TV series, I believe that the writers would have began the process of evolving the character toward the person we have seen in the Battlestar Galactica TV series.

Remember how Starbuck started out in the Battlestar Galactica TV series? She began as a cocky pilot but eventually we saw her character begin to evolve and she started to grow out of the cockiness we saw earlier on in the TV series.

Second, I disagree that Blood & Chrome isn't better than the webisodes from the TV series. I actually enjoyed Blood & Chrome and found the web series to be more interesting than the previous web series. I think trying to compare to Blood & Chrome to the 2004 Battlestar Galactica series is an unfair justification. This web series simply gives us a taste of what we could expect from an actual TV series of the same name. Sure, it's going to be similar to Top Gun but also work on bridging this series to what we have come to see in the 2004 series.

Without a Blood & Chrome TV series to make a fair comparison to the previous series, it would be unjustified to make any kind of comparison to the first Sci-Fi series.

Finally, I actually enjoyed the Blood & Chrome web series. I think if you enjoyed Top Gun and Battlestar Galactica, that Blood & Chrome adds elements from both and creates something new, unique and refreshing to a franchise series that had waned in the last season of its production (Season 4). While there were some good episodes, it had definitely slipped since its first season.

Hopefully, SciFi will greenlight a TV series based on Blood & Chrome and give fans what they've been waiting for.

I thought that the cast was by far the strongest element of this. I'd watch a series, at least in the beginning, just for them. They're all pretty great.
