Really wouldnt recommend blind buying this, its a super polarizing and bizarre movie.
Definitely give it a watch before picking it up.

Not a bluray, but fans of the movie (and Cronenberg in general) might find this interesting:

It’s still available at the Criterion website. Just because something goes out of stock on Amazon doesn’t mean it’s OOP.

I still think of The Simpson's Nelson Muntz review of this film. "I can name two things wrong with that Title."

It's the opposite. No retailer has stock except for them.

I see it available to order at Target, and Walmart. I haven't checked elsewhere.

That’s basically my attitude as well, I love pretty much every Cronenberg I’ve seen and generally enjoy abstract cinema, but I’ve gotta say Naked Lunch was very inaccessible and a bit of a chore.

It’s a good, film, I’m glad I’ve seen it, but it won’t be going into the collection. I suggest you try before you buy.

I have a mugwump hanging over my bar to remind me how great this movie is every day. I think this is one of the film where Cronenberg turned the corner from being a goofy horror director to being serious director. I like the last half of his career better than the first.

Geez. I wasn't at all prepared for this one. Glad I picked it up during the Criterion sale, though. Definitely wouldn't recommend this for everyone

I consider this, Dead Ringers, and Crash to be his golden period...

I love this film so much. It just so effortlessly messes with your mind while being simultaneously hilarious and tragic.

When I first saw it and the
[Show spoiler]"shedding scene" happened at the end I found myself going, "Chief Brody?"

Agreed; not for everyone but lives up to its tagline.

Checking this disc out thanks to the film's anniversary being a couple months back, and does anyone know if "Naked Making Lunch" has been cut slightly? The credits for the doc mention a cover of "I've Got You Under My Skin" that doesn't appear, and I seem to recall that a segment with that song did exist on the DVD.

Maybe my memory is hazy, though. Need more bug powder.

Weird and wacky movie with usual Cronenberg body horror stuff. I like it but not enough to invest in the 4K. Seller’s great.

It's been over a year since this comment, but the answer has arrived: Although the site's review of the Criterion BD is not down to the second, it lists the piece as running 49 minutes. The site's review for the new Arrow 4K (on which the feature is apparently scanned from Chris Rodley's 16mm print) lists the runtime as 54:40.

EDIT: DVDCompare says Criterion's Blu-ray version is 48:53.
