The extras would most likely be in standard definition anyways. And you can probably get those dvd's for like $5 or less.

The real problem none of those extras found on previous discs were finished in HD (i would assume). If they put them on, the would still look the same. Extras are nice but not the main reason I buy the movie.

I'm definitely getting the HD trilogy pack since extra materials never matter to me much, the behind the screens, bloopers, etc... I rarely watch those on regular DVDs anyway. But if there's an extended or uncut version on regular DVD and not on Bluray, then I'll have a problem.

Well, the supplements of Spider-Man 3 are presented in high definition. Both the films Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 were converted from standard definition to high definition. Why not convert the extras?

I look at it like this:

VHS gave you the film.
DVD gave you the film and supplements.
Blu-ray [should] give you the film and supplements in high definition.

Not this:

VHS gave you the film.
DVD gave you the film and supplements.
Blu-ray gives you half of what DVDs give you: the film in high definition, no supplements. If so, in standard definition.

People who don't care about extras, buy the DVDs. People who want more than what you get from a DVD, should buy Blu-ray.

Hardcore Spidey fans, like me, deserve to have everything in high definition.

Per Amazon:

Spiderman Box Set: $64.95
Spiderman 3: $28.95

Therefore, Spiderman and Spiderman 2 are $18 each. For 2 special effects heavy truly entertaining films in 1080p with TrueHD audio, I'm finding it hard to believe that anyone is having a hard time with this decision. No extras is a little disappointing, but come on. These films will look and sound the best they ever have on home video, the Box Set should be a no brainer if you're a fan.

I know I'm prolly one of few here, but I have never really looked at extras unless I'm to lazy to get off my couch and change the disc and need something to look at. I really don't care at all about extras.

First thing... these Blu-Rays were created from standard definition? What do you mean? And second, are the features in HD really going to help anything? Do they need a high resolution or something? Are you presenting the features to friends to show off Blu-Ray instead of the films themselves? I guess I still don't see the point...

i couldn't possibly care less about extras. I personally think it's ridiculous when the overall grade of a disc rating is dragged down by extras...they should be, by definition, extra. Just how I feel there.
