Thanks. I likely will do that even though I'm pretty sure the blind buy would be safe. Never hurts with the price tag being $30.

I am not a big fan of crime films, but this one really made an impression. And Ben Kingsley is fantastic in it. A definite buy for me.

My jaw dropped when I saw this announcement, I've been waiting for this to come to Blu-ray for years (not counting the terrible UK Blu-ray). Darkly hilarious crime film.

While Drop Dead Fred is one of my favorite movies, I could never pay $30 for it. It makes sense to why a person would have a favorite film, but not be able to pay double the amount of money...

Dammit! Of course! As soon as I finally break down and import the UK disc, this gets announced. I will definitely upgrade though.

Utterly brilliant film, Ben Kingsley's Logan is certainly one of the most insufferable d-bags in the history of the crime genre! He must have had a blast playing him. Every scene he's in is absolutely bonkers!

I'll notify Twilight Time to contact you before they announce any future titles so you can dictate to them what is a good fit for them. I'm glad they have you around to advise them.

I think the UK Blu-ray is just fine and not worth to upgrade, even I like the film quite much.

For the region free folks it has been released in Germany and the UK already. It also is part of this pretty cheap set from the UK

As others have already said, this option isn't exactly the greatest since both releases are not OAR.

Isn't the AR quite questionable in this case - look at the dvdbeaver caps?

Well said!

I used to have this on DVD and yeah, it's a great movie. I doubt I'll pick it up though because Ben's character is such a dick, it was tough to watch. Someone you really hate!

It is, but I'm used to the scope version. The other one looks wrong to me.

What is "questionable" about it? The film is shot on Super35. Scope is the OAR.

Both ratios are correct. The film was financed by Film 4, part of TV station Channel 4 so it was framed for theatrical exhibition at 2.35:1 and 1.78:1 for TV.

If you like it try 44 Inch Chest, by the writers of Sexy Beast and starring Ray Winstone with Ian McShane. John Hurt's character approaches Ben Kingsley's for sheer vileness.

I prefer the 1.85:1 version, much like I prefer the 1.85:1 version of The World's Fastest Indian. That just looked odd, IMO, seeing it recently, in 2.35:1.

The real "crime" here is that Ben Kingsley's unforgettable performance lost the Best Supporting Actor Oscar to Jim Broadbent.

Great film, worthy of unlimited repeat viewings!

Is this not available for pre-order yet or something? Just searched Twilight Time's site and came up with nothing.
