Great idea for a poll but it seems that the choices are too few and limited in scope. Personally I would have looked into the top villains for a variety of genres and include them on the poll in addition to a few of my personal favorites. Just glad that my favorite (Vader) was included in the list.

Hannibal Lecter is my choice. I might have picked Darth Vader but since seeing the prequels I just imagine Hayden Christensen crying inside the mask like a little baby.

I think some of these shouldn't be on here because of the fact that they don't originate from films. The Joker is the best villain of all time if you ask me, but then I'd refer to him in comic book form.
My vote, therefore, goes to Darth Vader. He's just too iconic, intimidating and well-written (original trilogy) not to get my nod.

Why offer Freddy but not Jason or Michael?
