ive seen these films many times...those colours are an absolute fail in every respect...colour blind designer or they just want to try and emulate the gringo cover...junior marketing team.

I couldn't agree more with this and I'm surprised that most people here seem to be happy with it! Those colours just don't fit the feel of the films at all! They should be darker... more rugged and dirty looking! But I guess its not in their best policy to honestly reflect the visual tone of these films, as it wouldn't make much difference to the Jason Statham audience.

For some reason, I think the tin is only Mad Max, not the trilogy. It shows as only 1 disc in the box instead of 3. Can anyone be 100% certain if the tin is the trilogy or not? A link if possible

I think people are assuming at the moment both versions are trilogies as both say Mad Max Collection on them and one is just the box set the other the petrol can. But:

Quote:
A triple bill of the films that made Mel Gibson famous. 'Mad Max' follows the revenge spree of a former cop in the post-apocalyptic future after his wife and child are murdered by a gang of vicious motorbike thugs. The sequel, 'Mad Max 2', aka 'The Road Warrior', features loner Max helping a small oil-producing community defend itself against a band of crazed thugs. Finally, in the bigger budget 'Mad Max - Beyond Thunderdome', Max comes up against a barbaric society led by a warrior queen (Tina Turner).

According to the BVA the petrol can is just one film. So the artwork maybe just temporary even though it shows a trilogy under alternative artwork on Amazon's page. Confusing! Hopefully they're both trilogies but there's contradicting evidence.

thanks, I guess I'll hold the tin on pre order as it gets closer to the date for a certain conclusion to the question, if it is a single movie or all 3. I would assume all 3 myself actually...still though, hate to get burned opening it up and seeing only 1 movie staring back at ya lol

Hopefully it is the 3 films. It's what everyone has thought but Amazon have been a bit slow on the uptake.

It's £25.99 with Sainsbury's. That's the UCE.

I've put in a cautionary pre-order, waiting for a bit more information. As DJJez says it looks like it is the trilogy, but sometimes Zavvi does just copy and paste information for each set wrongly.

Amazon.es packaging isnt the best...much like amazon.ca in fact.

Amazon UK packaging is another thing altogether - over the top if anything!

Just realised that the first mad max disc may be locked to B,even if i have to order the first movie again it will still be cheaper than buying the three pack with customs charges on top!!

Yeah Ive had no problem with amazon.es so far...just saying that they dont seem to pack things half as well as UK for instance.

I got my Blade Runner briefcase from Amazon.es and that arrived fine. So have a few steelbooks Ive ordered from them - despite the lack of protective packaging.

Ermm why would you cancel the .ca order for .es? I just checked and they added 20.00 Euro for shipping on top, came to around 35.00 Eu. before exchange rate. I dont see the value here, as its about the same if not somewhat more then the UK version....and more expensive that.ca regardless at 36.99 + tax.

amazon has updated the petrol can now listed as

Mad Max Trilogy - Ultimate Collector's Edition (Limited Edition Tin Box) [Blu-ray + UV Copy] [Region Free]

it is also now 31 pence cheaper than the standard set

I ended up ordering the petrol-tin instead of the American release ; the region A blocked disc of Mad Max put me off and it will end up being cheaper to get the U.K version, though I still think the box and the design of the cover looks tacky!
