Guys, the transfer on these discs is nothing short of spectacular!
I feel for those who settled for the mediocre DVD release, and I'm so relieved I didn't go for those Arrow sets. This is a ton of beautifully shot and transferred movies.
I have no idea when I'll make time to extract/convert the much-needed subtitles, but for now, I'm so happy I got a copy.

I received mine earlier as well. I'm glad you're happy with the set! I haven't seen how bad the Arrow sets were, but the quality on The Original Films 1-6 set is piss poor at best, even by 2012 standards.

At the moment it seems to be available on filmhyllan.nu, at 62,1 euro. They claim they ship to US and EU. I don't know about how reliable they are (e.g., if they actually have it, how they ship)

Thanks, I already got it somewhere else.
That price you mention, btw, does not include VAT. With VAT (shipping excluded) it's 699 DKK (over 90 Euro), which is exactly what I've had to pay from the other website.

It's good to know there's also this option, should one need to buy something from over there

I'm just curious, but if the Wallander DVDs have English subtitles, and one has purchased both the DVD and the Blu-ray versions, shouldn't it be possible to view the blu-ray disc and somehow use the DVD subtitles?

Lightbulb Wallander 2013 (Krister Henriksson)

Will this ever have a complete set on blu with English sub-titles (I have all them on DVD w/subs!)?

Yes and no.
Not if - as already pointed out - the DVD subs are burned in (see post #36 in this thread).
And yes but with a high degree of pain related to the syncing job, if the length of each movie is not exactly the same between DVD and BD discs (more than likely it won't be, depending on a number of reasons/circumstances). A fraction of a second of difference here and there will turn syncing *32 movies* into a nightmare.

Has anyone ordered from filmhyllan.nu?? I'm thinking of getting the set from there as they seem to be the only place that have it and ship to the EU.

If you didn't find it yet, have you tried if the Swedish and/or Finnish websites where people sell their films (such as Tradera or Huuto.net) allow shipping outside those countries? Esp. if you are from Scandinavia, that might be worth checking out (like, looking for Wallander bluray or Wallander collectors box), as this set has been sold as new unopened blu-ray set on those sites. I've never bought or sold there, so I don't know if they ship elsewhere, but Tradera lists several currencies (GBP, US dollars, Euros), so they might ship outside Sweden.
