I bought 300 two days before I bought my PS3 but the reason i did it was because I didn't want them to sell out of 300. Go Blu!

I had 15 BD's before I bought my own player (I used my roomates' PS3 before that) because I wanted to watch them on my own TV. Not exactly the same as you I guess. I did stop buying DVDs left and right about two years ago in anticipation of blu-ray though.
