Entertainment in Video have f***ed up again!

I was really looking forward to watching “Death Sentence” on Blu-ray and with it being a Fox title I was looking forward to hearing some DTS HDMA that all fox titles have on Blu-ray. However, for some reason Fox has let Entertainment in Video do this title and not only do we not get a HD sound track we also don’t get a full HD picture - the Picture is a Mpeg4 1080i but they did make a 1080p menu

The default sound on loading the film is Dolby stereo and you have to choose the 5.1 Dolby digital 640kb track from the menu if you want surround sound.

I think this is the last Entertainment in Video Blu-ray I will ever buy what with “the Crow” and now this! They have proved to us all that they cant do HD films to save there lives - the only reason Hairspray was good was because New Line Cinema let them have the same encode that they made for their USA release of the Blu-ray.

The film it self is very good so my only recommendation is that if you really must watch this film, that you purchase the DVD and let your player up sample it – the sound and picture quality will be just as good. I would personally wait until Fox releases this title on Blu-Ray itself.

Their Shoot 'Em Up disc is very good, but I suspect it's the same as Hairspray, in that they just ported everything over from the U.S. disc. Here's hoping Blade, etc come out Stateside first and not EIV botch jobs.

Dose the EIV Shoot 'Em Up come in 1080p and have the 7.1 DTS HDMA sound track on it?

Don’t worry about the EVI Shoot 'Em Up, there is a little hack that lets you play the US version on region B players anyway so I have ordered the US version

It also works on

Hairspray
Mr woodcock
Rush Hour 3

Thank goodness that we can have US New line films on the region B PS3 players

It says '7.1 Dts', so take that as you may.

I cant wait for a Blu release of Death Sentence sooner or later. I already bought the DVD but I would double dip in a heart beat.

I'll still buy it if it is region free. It is gonna be a loooonnnnnnngggggg time before fox releases it, and I just simply don't buy regular dvds anymore

I love revenge flicks . I really wanted to like this movie, but it did nothing for me. Give me Death Wish, Rolling Thunder, or They Call Her One Eye over this movie any day.

Will check it out, but no way am I going to boycott EIV.

As jhansla, I dont buy standard dvds anymore.

Sorry for the enormous necro-bump, to start.

Anyway, I'm still waiting for this one but am ready to break down and import since it's STILL not on the radar for a US release. (Unless someone here knows something I don't)

Anyway, I know the UK version is region locked, but does anyone know about the German version? Thanks in advance.

I thought the audio quality rocked for non HD, the picture was good too, but I was disappointed with the release, although I think it is pretty damn good!

I have the German version, it's region free and plays in my region A PS3.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. From what I've read, the PQ/AQ seem pretty legit too.

Not sure if this is the German release that everyone's been talking about importing but, I imported this from a third party seller on Amazon.com awhile back and LOVE it! Its the theatrical cut presented in 1080P with 5.1 DTS-HD Audio.

Wasnt sure if this was German or some other country since the back of the box displays info from like 5 different countries.
