My guess as well.

I'm gonna see this in theaters, it looks enjoyable.
I'm currently reading Looking for Alaska by John Green, the author of TFIOS, and it's pretty good. I'm gonna look into reading his other books rather than TFIOS just yet. Haha.

Check out the stuff he does online with his brother Hank, especially Crash Course.

Sorry but the screenwriters have their work cut out for them to make this into a quality film given what they have to work with. I know they wrote The Spectacular Now, but that was a much better book so all they really had to do there was compress it into 90 minutes(and tack on a more upbeat ending).
Come on, though. People talk differently in a lot of films/plays/TV. How many times have you, IRL, found yourself in a conversation even remotely resembling something written by Mamet or Sorkin, for instance? No one talks like that.

NOTE: I'm not comparing the quality of the writing here to Mamet or Sorkin. I'm just saying that the argument, "That's not how people actually speak," can be applied to all sorts of work.

I haven't watched them, but I'm hoping to meet them (John Green mostly) at Vidcon and maybe get a booked sign!

I saw a bootleg of the new trailer attached to The Other Woman. Greatly prefer the first trailer.

But it's annoying the way they talk, especially Augustus. I didn't meant to imply that I need it to sound like real life. Just that I don't want the main characters to bug the hell out of me. And Willem Dafoe's character, Van Houten, is even worse than them. Like I said, the screenwriters have their work cut out.

BTW on a side note, I hope it doesn't feel weird seeing two actors who previously played siblings in Divergent cast as love interests in this movie. Strangely enough, the same thing is happening(albeit in reverse) with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen in Godzilla and Avengers 2.

That doesn't really bother me. It's called acting . And Woodley and Elgort don't really share that much screen-time together in Divergent.

The "fault" is that she is so sick and he is so well. According to
[Show spoiler]Peter Van Houten
, anyway. The title comes from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar.

Someone took that seriously.

Also what a silly silly explanation.

The timecode runs backwards. Skip ahead to 14:25, when Shailene Woodley gives a really creepy/funny answer.

Just saw it. The translation to the big screen didn't really work. Some of the dialogue worked in print but sounded awkward or was unnecessary in the context of a visual medium. The movie was "funny" when it shouldn't have been.

I know the trailer has more than 16 million views, but how many times did certain people play it?

That's a bummer, but I'm not going to write it off yet as I've heard great things from others who have gone to screenings.

Just to give you an example:

[Show spoiler]In the book, Gus tells Hazel some bad news while they're in Amsterdam. He finishes by saying that the world is not a wish-granting factory.

In the movie, that last line of dialogue was not needed. You can see the anguish on the actors' faces, and "movie time" moves at a different pace than "book time". So, when Gus says that last line, it felt tacked on and just way too much "nail on the head". I mean, the characters were already crying, and the audience was already sobbing -- no need to tell us that we're supposed to feel REALLY SAD RIGHT NOW.

Yeah I suppose that could be annoying. Sometimes less is more. I really hope I love it though. The book was so wonderful. And I do trust the screenwriters. I adore (500) Days of Summer and dug The Spectacular Now.
