Are they doing screenings of this? So would love to hear how it is. I have a bad feeling but am looking forward to it because Melissa is hilarious. Hope it turns out good. I'll see it theatrically.

I don't hate McCarthy, I loved her in Bridesmaids and Gilmore Girls but I haven't seen anything else she's done so I can't really judge one way or the other.

Every time I see the ads on TV, I throw up in my mouth a bit. So the premise is that there's this girl named Tammy, and she walks around and says stupid things? And the movie is simply called Tammy?

How does this get a nation wide theatrical release while so many good movies are quietly dumped straight-to-VOD? Granted, I haven't seen the film, so if it's the next Citizen Kane, forgive me. But if I have trouble sitting through a 30 second TV spot, 90 minutes of that will make me want to gouge my eyes out.

Because Mellisa McCarthy's last two films were huge hits. And if seems when you have hit films you can do whatever you like. As dumb as it seems.

I like Melissa McCarthy and Susan Sarandon. However, I don't buy Susan Sarandon as Melissa McCarthy's grandmother. There is a 24 to 24.5 year age difference between these 2 actresses.

Even if Melissa McCarthy looks younger than she really is (which I don't think is the case) or if Susan Sarandon looks older than she really is (which I absolutely don't think is the case), these 2 actresses playing grandmother and granddaughter is still a stupid concept because it's still obvious the age gap is much too narrow.

For the reasons I mentioned above, I'll definitely pass on this movie as well.

I thought it was the same reason people don't like Kevin Hart. As they seem to play the same characters every movie. And people get tired of this act.

My problem with Melissa McCarthy is the swearing (especially in The Heat). Can swearing be funny? Sure, if used well and sparingly. Look at Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

If you're using it every other word, it has no impact. Using the adjectives "f*cking" and "sh*tty" to describe every noun isn't really funny, especially when that's the closest thing your movie has to a joke.

My problem with this particular movie isn't Melissa McCarthy. It's that it's about a girl named Tammy who walks around and says stupid things, and it's called Tammy. Yawn.

The trailer they've been showing for this makes it look absolutely dreadful. Story seems like she gets fired after an unfunny incident and then she drives for the rest of the film while slapsticky things happen. The audience pretty much lies brain dead as it plays, f'in Brown's Boys stirs up more of a reaction than this.

They managed to save us the displeasure of seeing that one, so now there's less context to general movie goers.
