Not really a gamer anymore but I was in the NES and SNES days and I enjoy his videos. Heard the movie sucked but might get this to support his work. Thanks for the news.

Watched the 4th one. That was a little better. Less forced and more natural.

No, it was posted for the then-unscheduled release of the Blu-ray. That's why it's in the Blu-ray Movies - North America forum and the first post has a bolded reference to a future Blu-ray release date.

I'm sure mods can merge the two threads.

I still think a lot of his recent stuff is great. Haven't seen the movie but it seems the general consensus is that those who don't like his more recent stuff didn't like the movie. I'm sure I'll like the movie in that case.

The really really early episodes (when he was the Nintendo Nerd) are the only ones that I don't really care for..

You know what's bullshit? Bitrate starved discs! The feature film and 10 hours of bonus features on one ****ing disc!

Still takes considerably less space than 1080p.

His dick tracy nes game review was one of his very best!

Sure, but 12+ hours? I don't know why he didn't make it 2 discs at least.

I'm sure the scope of this release puts some budgetary restraints.

Agreed. I really appreciate the effort into getting it made, but $25 is a bit much. Will wait for a price drop.

The feature film's sound also appears to be lossy Dolby Digital 5.1.

As much as I like the Nerd videos, a full TWO HOURS of his schtick might get annoying. Plus, I'd want to rent this first, and I somehow don't see Netflix getting copies anytime soon.

I could see it going up on Instant, though.

It only costs $5 to rent on Vimeo in HD. That's pretty fair honestly for all the free content he's given us over the years.
