Which l'Ultimo Imperatore are you referring to?

Is this the 1987 film by Bernardo Bertolucci and starring Peter O'Toole, or the 2008 film about the fashion designer? Neither was shot in 3-D so it would be a conversion. Or is there another film called l'Ultimo Imperatore 3D?

Experience Montreux which I probably would not have known about if not for 3-D blu-ray rental.com, Box Office 3d which I still haven't seen, the Mortician and Sammy's adventures a Turtle's Tale. I picked up the Target Hansel and Gretel as well as their Men In Black 3. I also have picked up Thunder and the House of Magic. And then Man In The Dark which is limited edition and the Shrek complete. Aiming for Paul Carrack Live in 3d

It's the Bertolucci film, it got a new transfer and a 3D conversion.

As for rarities, I've got some Japanese 3D porn, does that count?
Noah has excellent 3D, watched it last night. I got it for 10 euros in Amazon Italy's 3D sale last month.

Yeah, I'll be keeping an eye on the Italian one because I've picked up a few 3D cheapies from them over the last couple of years, like Final Destination 4 and House of Wax.

I'm not into the import game, so nothing like you guys. I'm actually glad Inferno is now a Region Free release next week.

In terms of rarity, I guess, my Creature from the Black Lagoon 3D Blu-ray is signed, personalized by Julie Adams.

I imported Shark Night 3D.

Saw it in theaters too.. was the only one there.

It was opening night.

I would jump on importing Disney 3D blus now but ... if Disney thinks we shouldn't have them here then fine... My kids don't really like 3D... just me.

a few rares not already mentioned, that are in my collection: Beauty and the Beast US, Lion King US, Little Mermaid US, Nightmare Before Christmas (original 3D release) US, CZ12 HK, Young Judge Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon HK, Sharknado GER, My Soul To Take FRA, The Dark Country FRA, Hari-Kiri (w/English subs) NZ, The Gulliotines (w/English subs) NZ.

Luckily, a few of these were gifted or I lucked out finding them before they went OOP. I think the Aus/NZ titles might still be in print. I have no idea why the original 3D version of Nightmare sells for over list with the 20th Ann. version so readily available.

These are the rare 3d gems in my collection:

2) Beowulf 3d -
3) Target's exclusive Digibook release of Hansel and Gretel 3d
8) Thunder and the House of Magic 3d
Those above are rare in the USA that I have, and Need for Speed 3D is another rare one I have, in the sense it's not made for the US 3D audience based on Disney's tighter budget.

I don't have it. I'd consider it rare here, yes. Glad to hear the 3D is worth it.

These are the rare 3d gems in my collection:

1) Bons de Bico 3d aka Free Birds 3d - I have the Brazilian region A 3d version of Free Birds. It was a good thing I could import this because not having a 3d version for the U.S. release felt like a hard slug to the gut after having seen and enjoyed the wonderful 3d version in theaters.

2) Beowulf 3d - I bought the import from Germany. I had seen Beowulf before and was impressed but the 3d really adds a lot more immersion and emotional impact to the story. Get it if you're on the fence about it.

3) Target's exclusive Digibook release of Hansel and Gretel 3d - This had a very limited print run as a kind of initial promotion of Hansel and Gretel. Our Target got only two copies, one of which I happily picked up at store opening.

4) Maleficent 3d

5) Noah 3d - I thought this movie was visually meh at the theater. However, after having imported the 3d version, I was blown away by the quality of the 3d conversion. The 3d conversion puts this movie in a whole other league visually and they even altered scenes to enhance the 3d effect. This import is the biggest pleasant surprise I've ever had.

6) Ratatouille 3d

7) Best Buy Wolverine 3d exclusive - This is the black box edition with those cool art cards showing the different characters in the movie.

8) Thunder and the House of Magic 3d - This was a Walmart exclusive with a limited print run. This has some of the most impressive 3d I've ever seen in an animated film and makes me feel sorry for those who bought only the dvd version.
Which is funny considering that this conversion was done against the wishes of D.A. who was dead set against releasing the movie in 3D.

I was hopeful after we screened the Last Emperor 3D at AFI Fest 2 years ago we would have seen a U.S. 3D bluray release.
It was very well done, and Bertolucci supervised the conversion.

Wow. I didn't even know Free Birds was released on 3D BD in region A. How is it? Worth the investment? Good 3D? Any eye-gouging pop outs?

Which country sells Free Birds 3D BD in region A format? Thanks for the info.

Brazil, South America. It has a choice of Portuguese or Spanish for menu navigation and offers the original English audio track without forced subtitles in a DTS HD-HR 5.1 encode. No eye-gouging pop outs, but there is a mixture of mild to strong intensity. It has the strongest coolest 3D studio header I've ever seen on any BD 3D disc which wasn't expected.. Movie theme is seasonal Thanksgiving animation.
